This may be more for Egnater customer service than here but here goes anyway...
I have 2 new/matched 6l6's I recently got from the Tube Doctor online store...I would like to use them but I'm wondering if I can mix them with the existing Groove Tubes that came with the head....If yes (I know how to bias)...where would they go...1 on each end? 2 in the middle? any help is welcome...just dont suggest I buy 2 more...my wife has the kitchen knife to my adam' s apple as we speak....thanks

I would never do that. I allways use a matched quartet of the same tubes in all 100 watters, matched duo for 50 watters.

I'm one of those dudes who likes (loves) to push that envelope...sometimes it broke me other times
it sent me on a very cool trip....I'd reallllly like to hear from an egnater dude on this???? Is anybody in there" just nod if u can hear me...

I would strongly reccomend against this. You really have to use a matched quartet in their. You could blow the tubes, maybe worse, and I am not sure the power scaling would work.

I think the biasing might not be right either.

Thanks Len...as always, I abide to your better judgment.

I AM THE GOD OF THE TOURMASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's lonely up here, man! Bunch of rebel/renegade cloneheads!!!

;) :D     :gethim:

Seriously, when I put my Tourmaster into the shop I played through a few amps. None of them were as good as the Egnaters. I liked the Rebel and the Renegade, but they don't have the combination of power and features that the Tourmaster has.

Might get a Rebel as a second, small, grab and go amp, though.

:m9: :m17: :bash: :2thumbsup: :bleh: :worship:  :student: :inlove: :loco:  :emofag: :grim: :cheers2: :boxer: :hys: :jerkit: :worship:  :checkthisout: :salute:

my backup is a marshall jmp-1 thru a tubeworks mosvalve power amp...it's mounted in the rach that holds my tuner and acts has a carrying case for cables etcetc....so if the eggie goes out i'm back in business in 3 minutes.

The problem is that your bias adjustment is just one control for all 4 tubes.....You could run just the middle pair and bias that to 60 MV...you also have to reduce impedance by 50%...IE....If you have a 16ohm cab, now you would run it at 8 ohms
