Some people might laugh, but this one is the Squier SE Strat and it's a butt kicker. One day, my wife walked into my studio with this guitar. WTF?! Surprised the hell out of me. It was gonna go to her friend's rummage sale, but as soon as I put my hand around the neck, I said "will she take $150 for it? Her friend said "sure". THEN, @JackBootedThug called me out of the blue and told me that he sent me $50 just because he wanted to. That blew my mind. Thanks again, Broseph! These came in starter packs, but a lot of people rave about 'em and for good reason. The neck is flamey AF, it's a baseball bat, and feels rock solid like an 80's Charvel. (If you've played an old Charvel, you know what I mean). I've never had a fat neck like this before, but it feels amazing. Body is full depth so they're great mod platforms. They made the bodies for these guitars out of Agathis, Alder, or Poplar. I've got DiMarzio stacked pickups ready to drop in. Then I want to get the Highwood saddles, better string trees and some good quality locking tuners. If you get the chance, check one out. They're pretty cool!

These were built by my good friend Nigel Carter out of SD county: ‘57 spec Sea Foam nitro finish loaded with Zhangbucker hand-wound Super Hardcore PU’s, massive Pau Ferro neck with Macassar board, Callaham trem/bridge, fossilized Mammoth nut and locking Grovers. ‘65 spec pink lightly relic’d hard tail with maple neck, rosewood board. (bonus Tele: Spalted Maple cap, fat Bois de Rose neck, Zhangbucker Twangsmoker neck and Super Paul Bunyan bridge and locking Grovers)

Great thread -I'll play (pun intended!)

From left to right:

1. Original 1972 Heavy Ash. My first ever electric guitar purchased used in 1979 for $375! Lindy Fralin Vintage Hot pickups. However, before that I had three Dimarzio Fat Strats in there. I am still kicking myself for throwing the original grey bottom pickups in the trash, I suck.
2. 2001 Yngwie Malmsteen - stock
3. 1987 Japanese Basswood. Purchased new at Manny's NYC 1987 for not a lot of money! This one punches above it's weight, the Japanese factory were making some nice instruments around that time. Duncan Antiquity Surfers. I think John Norum owns one of these.
4. 2000 '57 American Vintage Reissue. Lindy Fralin Vintage Hots

MIJ Squier E Series I picked up and swapped all the electronics to BKPs (PAT Pend '59 Slab in the bridge & Mothers Milk in the neck/middle).

Wired a master tone pot with a push pull to take it out of the circuit like Dick Dale's wiring. The volume is in the middle knob position since I hate that first knob location by the bridge; it's also a push pull to add the bridge pickup to the neck/middle pickup (I've got no use for this but the push pull pot I bought was a 2 pack). Also using an Ilitch noise cancelling system in the tremolo cover.

My shitty wiring job

The body and neck have a ton of dings and shitty repair jobs. Need to find some rosewood dust to fill missing chunks on the fretboard edges and swap to a new nut, but fortunately their locations don't impact playability. Also debating relicing it more since the patch jobs were so bad to begin with.
