Transformers for Weber Super Lead 100 Clone

Hey all, to make a long story short - I had a 16 ohm cab that turned out to have some faulty wiring (read as less than 16 ohms on the meter) which caused me to fry the transformers in my amp. Pretty ridiculous, sad, and pathetic I know. But I did a little bit of research, and it seemed like people here did not recommend Weber's transformers even for their in-house amps. But it seemed like many other brands' transformers might not fit the chassis on a Weber kit. So I'm looking for suggestions on what would be a good replacement before I take it to a tech.
The amp I have was put together whenever Weber still had a custom amp shop back in the early 2010s. I'd really like to get this amp going again, as it sounded great.

Physically, I don't see why these replacements wouldn't fit, or at least wouldn't fit after you drilled more holes in the chassis

Impedance is not the same as ohms. I think a 16 ohm cab measures like 15 ohms on a meter.

What's really true is that impedance is not the same as resistance although it's similar. Both are measured in ohms, but when you measure it with a standard multi-meter (driving a DC signal) the inductive impedance from the coil disappears leaving only the resistance of the coil, so you get a value less than the nominal impedance for the speaker. How much less depends on the speaker.

Mojotone sells Heyboer Transformers.

And yes its critical to figure out if the transformer is the root cause or the victim. If its was the victim the new one will fail pretty quickly.

Unless your measured DC resistance was well below half the nominal impedance, I suspect that was NOT the cause of your issue.

I have to be honest it was about a year ago, been sitting on the amp for a while meaning to get it repaired. Definitely could be misremembering, but I recall something else being fucky with the cabinet when I looked inside at the wiring.

You probably only damaged the output transformer, usually the power transformers survive an OPT failure just fine.. For a replacement output transformer I would recommend a Heyboer output transformer hands down regarding quality and price. If the hammond is cheaper and price is an issue then go with Hammond.

The Heyboer Dagnall C1998 transformer is a great period correct Plexi/Superlead transformer.

I've purchased a few Heyboer's from Amp Parts Direct and they ship fast at a great price. You better rewire your cabinet and make sure the speaker connections are good, I would recommend soldering the speaker connections.
