I monkeyed around with a few delays at GC over the weekend to have something at home to use. My reference point is a Timefactor that I've had about 2 months that I leave with the "big rig" at the studio. I tried the Flashback, CC, Malekko 616, and Aqua Puss. Some kid was wailing on the Boss board, so I didn't try the DD7.

My thoughts -
CC - I didn't like one I tried a few months ago, didn't like this one either.
Malekko 616 - For $150, this was a smokin one-trick-pony delay. I thought it kicked all kinds of ass. Couldn't get the modulation to sound good, but whatever, leave it off.
Aqua Puss - umm, didn't do anything for me. The Malekko destroyed the CC and Aquapuss for the analog sound
Flashback - decent analog and tape sounds (I thought it sounded better than the CC and Aqua Puss for those, but nowhere near as good as the Malekko), 2290 was really cool, ducked was OK, Toneprint concept was intriguing.

So, I ended up buying the Flashback, and took it down and ran it through the "big rig" vs. the Timefactor. To me, the Timefactor sounded better, but that came at the price of quite a bit of tweaking that I've done to get it there. I think the Flashback was 80% of the way there, and is definately a keeper, both for home use, and also as an alternative for the Timefactor.

Well, the timefactor should kick the living shit out of the Flashback. You can almost buy three fb's for one timefactor.

But it didn't kick the living shit out of the Flashback. The Flashback held it's own, and I could make it work for the delay parts of the Timefactor, but I also use the TF for chorus and reverb... Plus it is nice to be able to tweak brightness/darkness of the repeats, amount of ducking and modulation parameters.

Wampler Faux Analog Echo Delay FTW! Check it out. Love it over the TC and MXR.

absolutely love the TC and couldnt stand the CC. I dont thik that there is anything better for the money or a bunch more for that matter..

No tap tempo on the FB is why I don't own one. I like the Strymon delays better regardless but if you don't need tap tempo the FB is fine even though it's not very tweakable at all.

The bumblefoot tone print basic delay is my favorite. I'l post some clips this weekend....
