They sound identical to me
Yeah they are super similar. I didn’t have them with the same exact settings, on the RI I bumped bass and treble and presence and had the mids slightly reduced compared to the g, which I had everything lower except the mids I brought up a bit. Amp 1 is the rev G and amp 2 the RI. Listening back I can hear the minute difference on the soloed tracks, the mix is basically a total wash and a shit mix anyways so w/e haha

Doggshittt incoming; I promised clips but I did not say I would spend any amount of time on my takes 👮 That being said, tracks are USA KM-7 > Griffin Bad Monkey > Amp > 2002 Mesa OS straight/slant > SM57 right, SM7b left. Solo tracks are just centered sm57 for reference.

sick riffs!

Dope playing 🤙🏽They sound very similar. Amp1 seems like it has more sag than Amp2. Not sure what you experienced while playing but 2 definitely sounds tighter..

That’s definitely much more the case in the room, it is noticeable that the RI is tighter and more “firm” and I think you can hear it in the clip although through the exact same close mic it’s harder to tell.

Thanks for confirming I’m not completely crazy.. lol great job on matching tone btw. Your ears are definitely solid 👍🏽👍🏽

Is the C mod just the 1M gain pot or is there more to it?
For anyone who is interested, I did do the pot change to my Triple RI re: C mod. While it did add a ton of gain, it added more high end in, and the high end was a harsh high that I couldn't dial out. This was to both Orange and Red. I used the same 102k bright caps to both 1meg gain pots. Also changed the Red Presence to 250k. It changed the amps sound in such a way, that it reminded me of the difference between a C+ and a Mark III. Some of you may like it. I personally did not...so I went back to stock.
I also removed the 250k presence and went back to the 100k stock presence, thinking that would help the harsh upper mids/highs....it did not. So it is the effect of adding the 1 meg gain pots that change the high end. If I remember right, this was also the result when I C modded the F Triple I had. I played the amp as I did the mod in stages....just the 1 meg gain pots brightened that amp up, without changing anything else.
