our music videos production office was 1 block south of Sunset and 2 blocks west of A&M studios (now Hensen) on Delongpre Ave and we would use the Chaplin Sound Stage located on the lot for filming.
There used to be a Circuit City at the corner of Sunset and La Brea which i remember watching in the news being looted during the Rodney King riots.
Across from the main A&M studio entrance on N La Brea Ave was the Girls Girls Girls strip club made famous by the Crüe.
while assistant directing a playboy shoot for a cable series called “wet and wild” for another company, i was told there were some folks asking for me at the entrance to the Chaplin stage. turned out Motley Crue were on the lot recording the non-Vince/Corbaldi(?) album and had heard there was a playboy shoot going on.
i explained we had 3 playmates in a surreal dream based waterfall set scene but the ladies were very shy and nervous.
they begged me to let them visit as guests but i told them the set was closed. no exceptions. while continuing to beg tommy noticed some light coming through a crack in the rear set wall separating them from the ladies. he ran over and peeked through the crack which was like a foot off the ground and got a glimpse of the talent. he started freaking out and calling the guys over to look. i started to kick them out but they desperately begged me to just give them two minutes to take turns peeping through the crack and then they promised they’d leave.
I looked at my watch and said “two minutes and be quiet” and they each thanked and bro hugged me in hushed tones then started jostling for position on their knees at the peep hole like 5 yr olds! true to their word they left after two minutes of oogling. the ladies and me:

the lady on my right was in Ace Ventura.

I love that the city is going to shit and people are dealing with having no water, and he is all worried about his shitty show.

Exactly. Nothing like clarifying to the public how much of an idiot you are.
