Starmer on putting British and UK boots on the ground in Ukraine to defend a deal. The UK is going all in and prepared to put troops on the ground in Americas absence........


Pretty much suggesting much of what I have been saying and in his words that "Europe must do the heavy lifting" from here on out with a "Coalition of the Willing"....... "this is not a moment for more talk, its time to act, it's time to step up and lead."



 
Yeah, Sir Starmer's rhetoric unfortunately doesn't in any way point to a resolution.

Fight, die, fight, die... it's like socialism - sooner or later you're gonna run out of resources, in this case, those in battle.

Once a deal is struck troops would be put in place to secure a lasting peace. I guess the resolution would be drawing a line with no more appeasement as has been the case since Crimea to use of Chemical Weapons in Syria to the War now.


The West has never really drawn a line to deter the Russians in any meaningful way if you think about it not from Obama, to Biden or Trump other than fancy talk and sanctions or sending money to Ukraine. It's been a stance of appeasement on the side of the West for the most part.


Peace by Russian terms isn't really "peace" either and it's more appeasement and opens the door for them to continue aggression as they have in the last 5-10+ years with no real repercussions other than talk and sanctions and no steel to meet theirs aside from Ukraines.


Securing peace through military detterence and strength which no one in the West has been prepared to do until now with a pledge to put boots on the ground working with a "Coalition of the Willing" seems like the way for a lasting peace IMO and that is exactly what those in the UK, Ukraine and their allies are set to do.

The more and more the Europeans figure out America is no longer a dependable ally the more chance a real peace or at least a new security framework will be struck.

I figure two things can result from this a weakend NATO or a dismantling of it completely depending on Trump and how he goes about it but in either case a new security framework not dependent on the US will be the outcome.

As Carmer said the time for more talk is over.
 
what good will all this do. if Kamaela, shapiro or Newscum wins in 2028

Troops on the ground establishes a red line in either case and well yeah without a red line the Russians will just keep doing what they are doing and have been for 5-10+ years. No one outside of Ukraine has been prepared to fight until now.



The road to peace isn't more appeasement and appeasing the Russians allowing them to do whatever they want without any meaningful repercussion as has been the case from Obama to now with Trump. The road to peace is through military detterence, strength and steel and that is what the Europeans are quickly realizing.


Trump and America aren't going to help them anymore and they need to go it alone.
 
Also I mean it's pretty rich in that sense from some on the left that won't recognize how this started and why we are here. Why didn't Obama do anything meaningful.....this started on his watch with Crimea....... or Biden either.........


Trump isn't doing that good either IMO but lets be honest none of the Presidents and neither party has really handled Ukraine well and there's plenty of blame to go around :dunno:


At least the UK and Europeans are prepared to take real and meaningful steps to do what the US should have done long ago now and that is really lead, step up and take action.
