Not going to work, at all. Give me a call Jerry and I'll loan you my BF-2 to check out. It would sound cool with that new amp of yours.

I think I have a pretty close rendition of this using my AxeFx (some guys have been asking if I could do this tone with the Snax for them).
I'm putting a filter in front of the gain stages of the preset.
Whatcha think the BF2 is notched at? I'm figuring kinda like where I used to set my PQ3...somewhere between 500-800hz..what's your guess or opinion??

I had two Marshall heads but did not run into the low level inputs of the heads. I went into the low level inputs on the Furman, the absolute key! I remember seeing guys in bands with the Furman and they weren't running them right. You could tell by the sound and when you saw their Furman's, the little input light was not peaking. That input light needed to be blinking like it was trying to warn you of impending doom. So I went Furman into a Scholz Stero Chorus Delay into two Marhalls heads in stereo. Then, when I could afford it I replaced the Scholz chorus with the Lexicon PCM41 and that tone just ruled.
Exactly! I ran my guitar into the Furman then into a Micro Amp then a Boss Noise Gate then into an Ibanez Ad202 Analog delay set for Doubling and modulated it into big fat chorus then into another AD202 for delay. I also had a dual 15 band graphic EQ. I had a little switching system setup that I built so that I could run a clean signal into one side of the EQ and the dirty signal into the other side then out to the AD202's and choose whether clean or dirty hit the front of the amp. It was a pretty cool clean sound because the LOW In on the 2204 Marshall skipped a gain stage in the preamp section. I used to guitarist charge the stage after a show trying to figure out what the hell I was runningIt was such a cool rig and I used it for years before I bought an RSB18 system. Then I used an Eventide H3000 for the chorus/doubling....a very expensive chorus...lol

this all sounds too famaliar to me. The PQ-3 through late 70's JMP was my choice at that time too as well as the Alesis Quadroverb in the loop. But one day the guitarist from Private Life which was a band Eddie Van Halen sorta endorsed at that time, came up to me said try this..BOSS- SD-1 and turn off that rack stuff..whalla, that was the end of rack days for me. : ) the natural tone of the amp was much more in your face and organic/raw. never went back![]()
I much prefer my Od100 with a Koko Boost in front than the PQ3 thing as well, but I gotta admit this BF2 thing is a pile of fun
I like my GCX and pedals with a GMajII in the loop with a Suhr Minimix...it keeps the dry tone intact

I started on the SD-1 and then did the Furman thing. I remember that the Furman just was way more saturated and gainy than the SD-1. When both guitarists in my band ran that rig it was freaking huge. It was a WALL of sound. But it certainly wasn't that pure of a guitar tone like the SD-1 was/is. A Marshall with an SD-1 one sounds like a guitar. At one point my rack was up to 3 spaces - Furman - Rocktron Hush - Lexicon PCM-41 into two amps. Then everyone just kept getting more and more crazy with their rigs and the racks grew huge. I remember the day I broke down and bought an ADA MP1 and disconnected my old stuff and got that ADA rig working and I was just stunned at the lack of immediacy coming out of my cabinet. Do you know what I mean? I NEVER heard a rack rig that didn't sound like the speakers were in the back part of the cabinet and the cabinet was four feet deep. It's the kind of thing most people would never even notice until they muted their strings with their left hand and wacked the strings with their pick through that rig and then did the same with an overdrive pedal into a Marshall. It's tough to describe, but the Marshall was right there and the sound was a part of you. With the rack rigs, the sound was "over there" and though there was virtually no latency between the note being played and you hearing it. It just didn't feel right. Maybe I was nuts? Either way, the ADA went back to the store two days later.

I think that's the tone I hear in my technique fingers, maybe.
