Tubescreamers

I’ve been watching youtube videos, trying to get an idea. Ya know, I still like the sound of the visual sound compared to a real tubescreamer. It had more low end and fattens up nicely. I usually use mine in front of a gained out amp. . Of the pedals mentioned, I think the green rino might work as well as the 805. Its a little over budget, but the KHDK Goul OD got my attention. Anyone have experience with them? Any good?

I have the ghoul screamer and it’s cool, but again, I much prefer the VFE Dragon. It’s clearer sounding and let’s me dial in/out the frequencies I want at any given time add that to the gain and level knobs and it’s a great pedal.
 
I’ve owned many and what I’ve learned is when boosting an already dirty amp all TS style pedals can be set to sound about 95% the same. My favorite is probably the Maxon OD9 but the fairly new Ibanez Mini sounds great also.
 
Love my KHDK GS, has the TS circuit, but the switchable compensation is nice. My favorite so far. I’ve tried most mentioned. Depends on the amp too.

I agree. I can get all Of the TS pedals I’ve tried close, I just dig ones with extra features.

This one I haven’t tried. The VFE. I own a KHDK. Curious

If you're looking to boost an already gainy amp then my suggestion is to give the Maxon od808 a try. It's my favorite boost and will make just about any amp sound excellent. Used is always a useful cost saving option.
