After watching numerous videos of youtube of two rock amplifier demonstrations i have set a goal for myself to own one. Problem is i got on there website and saw the prices of them...HOLY SHIT!!! So does anyone here have any experience with them at all? I was curious if they have a high gain model or are they more designed for the blues type player? I was thinking a JET model looked pretty decent for what id want it for. Oh and im also a huge John mayer fan and i know he had a limited run sig. model and his tone is freakin amazing so i can only imagine how nice they are.

Mayer toured with Custom Reverb Signature v2 until his signature head came out. I think $5400 for the CRS v2 and $8500 for the Mayer Signature. Does sound awesome.

Steve Snider or Velco Steve would be the ones to ask about TRs.

I've had 5 or 6 of them over the years. Great amps - incredibly thick and complex, touch sensitive.... use your favorite adjective here

Some of their models are too thick and loose for heavy rock, but a few of their older ones like the Emerald, Emerald Pro and Opal can all rock pretty hard. I've got 2 Emerald Pro's right now and will probably be selling one fairly soon. As soon as I can decide which one...

He posted a high gain clip of the 10th anny that sounded awesome even though you can tell he just threw a mic in the room and hit record......I think he stunned the old guard at TGP with it :hys: :hys: :hys:

Don't go lumpin me in that cork sniffer crew, bro

You know - the TR's have never really lit a fire under me. Never owned or played one. I think I would lean more towards the Carol Ann stuff before going the TR route. I do like those Mayer tones in that clip above but think they're attainable for a whole shitload less money - like buying a fleet of amps less money

BTW - you know Bonamssa has thrown a Bogner 100b in his rig?

Oh yeah, your a \13 man :scared: :D

Bro there is that guy selling THE Bogner at TGP, the one that cliff owned that Vai used in the studio. Snider confirmed the pedigree as well and my ass was on fire from the Visa that was burning to be used

I can see Joe ripping on that amp

there's a guy on hcaf who has (had?) one.

Scott K I think

Couldn't you just toss a Boss Metal Zone in the front and be done ?

I have seen them go for as low as $2500.00 on the TGP, but I bet they were not listed for long. I tried an Opal. I liked it, but for the price, I pass.

Sounds like what anyone could get out of pretty much any Fender amp, IMO.

Classic Reverb remains my fave clean tones of any amp I have played and that is over my Two Rock Custom Clean which has amazing clean tones, I just prefer the way the Classic Reverb sounds and feels.

The Opal and Emerald Pro have cool hard rock tones on tap. My modded Topaz that Kurt mentioned is a one off and will be one of the last amps I ever sell. It is amazing and destroys most amps I run across for high gain.

Their new 10th anniversary is really nice but not a high gainer.

My modded Topaz Kicks ass on most amps I I have owned. Great amp in both clean and lead and has separate verb for each channel. They make some great stuff and as Randy knows, the 10 year old Emerald Pros are pretty cool amps.
sniderman!

i consider you the foremost authority on two rocks...I love that when you think one is a dog you say so as well.
your experience with these amazing tone machines surpasses any other outside of maybe steve kimmock and even he probably hasn't played as many TRs as you have, nor has he owned nearly as many boutique legends!

and john Mayer? Fuggetaboutit! Two rock rookie!

Sniderman OWNS!

So, have we figured out which wine goes well with a 2-Rock?
