PBS has a vested interest in making Trump look bad since he tried to rightly defund them so no I don't swallow their garbage as readily as you. I’ve seen similar reports from numerous sources. There may have also been testimony to congress on the topic, but not certain on that point.

There’s also reports that multiple defense contractors are ramping up production at the request of the US government, which lends credibility to the statement.
