Uberschall vs. 2ch Dual Rectifier

I dont think the uber is looser than the rectos, but i guess that depends on how they are set up. Tone wise i think the uber has the edge but I really dont think they are worth the hefty price they comand. On that note id go with a 2ch DR

Ive been playing rectos off and on for the last 10 yrs and i been playing ubers for almost 6 years, to my ears my ubers had a quicker attack and felt tighter, not sure if theres many others that feel that way or maybe its the way i dial in my ubers, i keep the bass around 11:00 and everything else at 1:00 or close to it.

As far as the tone goes i liked my ubers better than any of my rectos. i owned both at the same time and thats just the way i feel.
im sure others will disagree, both are nice amps and have their followers.

i love both honestly but the ubers are way more aggressive than the rectos are and deff have a bigger bass response

i also think they respond faster and sound better at lower volumes

rectos sound ok at low volumes but deff sound better when ther cranked

the only prob i have with the uber is the eq on it is wierd and is something you have to get used to, all the knobs on my twin jet do wierd things lol .... took me about a month to get familiar of how everything worked out

I own a Twin Jet and it is plenty tight...I wouldn't want it any tighter than it is..and by no means would I even reach for a boost. The Triple Recto I had was flubby and loose by comparison and too grainy for me. The thing about the Uberschall that I love is how deep it is, yet, how much definition and clarity it retains. You have a great rhythm tone and in the same channel you have a great singing lead tone. It's no contest for me.

Ive owned a Rev 2 Uber and a 2 channel Dual Rec, a Rackmount Dual rec...Uber wins. I loved the thick meaty tone of the uber, it was just so crushing

Owned an early Uber (2nd rev, before blue) and a 2 channel first year recto rackmount.

Recto is still here. I dug the Uber, but the orange channel on the recto for leads is just pure sweetness. The Uber was a killer amp though.

Uberschall needs no boost to sound right.

+1, agreed. The Uberschall is one nasty amp.. As Bogner describes it , it is Armageddon in a box.. I am totally having 2nd thoughts on selling mine.. I just wish I wasn't a broke bastid

BTW what are you guys boosting your Ubers with?? I am curious as I have never used a boost in my life

I've tried various eq's (racks & pedals), Zakk OD, Bad Monkey, & Bloody Murder. I liked boosting my Uber best with some sort of TS type of pedal. They have such a wide frequency range it works perfect with the shaved lows & highs of a TS; since the Uber has the monster low end it can handle getting some trimmed and it still retain some serious low end punch.

I run a Timmy set to pure clean for a solo boost, that way I can back down my gain for rhythm playing and keep the dynamics in place. The boost brings the amp back up to the gain level I would play at without it.

But that really is just a "luxury", because I can thing. The Uberschall doesn't need a boost to bring the goods.

Greg, how does this pedal differ from the od808?

I haven't looked at the schematic, but it's not simply an 808 clone; it's an "improvement" over the past models. I love it, though I prefer boosting Rectifiers with a Boss DS-1 (mine is Keeley modded).
