Oh man, Fender is about to go bankrupt because giga hipster Rhett Shull says in his video response to Fender that he ain't playing his Fenders anymore. Oh man, I guess Novo stock is about to go up when they're the only guitars he's going to feature on his videos from his collection.

But on a serious note, it is admirable that he realizes he's going to burn some bridges with Fender, even though they've hired him in the past for demonstrations, and he went ahead and made the video anyways. Whether he sticks to his guns remains to be seen, though.

I mean I don’t think anybody here likes the guy all that much, but honestly, fuck Fender and what they’re doing. Everybody who gets on the Fender hate train is doing a good thing right now.

It’s easy and tempting to say that nothing is going to impact Fender because they’re a huge company and by saying that it feels like you’ve picked a side and are therefore “winning,” but Fender doesn’t care about you, and if every Strat style body goes away but the ones Fender makes, your world is going to get shitter and your options more narrowed.

Former glorious company with innovative designs is sold and later makes their fortune selling shitty modeling amps and cheap ass versions of their famous guitars to kids and custom drug-behind-a-truck high end guitars to PRS private reserve enjoyers. There isn't a lot left to love from Fender but this daily outrage doesn't really factor into why I have thought they mostly suck for many years.

Fender lost me after the American Standards. That was a perfect Strat.
Like Tim Pierce says, he doesn't even know what a Fender Strat is any more, with the countless variations and bi-yearly name changes.
I think my Richie Kotzen Strat is the last Strat I buy. Made in Japan and made better and cheaper price than most of Fender's Strats.

I just want a good plain ol Standard US Strat from the late 90s or early 00s probably. No real reason to buy that era, just they don't make stuff like they used to. Anywho, I need a guitar to put these Jalen pickups I've had forever. Nothing sounds like a Strat, so one day I'll get a good used one with a 2 point trem.
