Ultralead II

Fryette does an occasional "malcontents" You Tube live stream on Sunday nights. It usually takes them 30 minutes to start talking serious, and they take live questions in the chat. @stephen sawall I've seen your name in that chat, do you know the malcontents schedule?
There is no schedule. He'll do it regularly for awhile then ghost everyone. I don't figure there'll be another episode until the UL releases. Going by past history that may be a LONG time from now. Fryette had dealers list the gpdi ir 2 years before it was released. I hope it's a successful product, but we've been down this road before.

This is what the GC website says today. Just for historical purposes. Lol

The original GPDI took years to come out also. And the LXII power amp was announced 2012 then came out in like 2017.

I’m wondering about what he’s gonna do about pricing. He was saying in the NAMM interviews he wouldn’t charge more than $4,000 for an amp, and then priced this at $3,999. What’s he gonna do when parts and labor costs inevitably go up?

Thanks Kelly,
Do you know where they announce an upcoming malcontents episode? I've looked around a few times and I dont see where to sign up for notifications.

They usually mention it on Facebook and Instagram.
You can also set up notifications from YouTube.

I believe Kelly is right. None of the small builders of amps or pedals I know are particularly punctual.

Occasionally I run the GPDI-IR into the Sig X poweramp. It has the Ultralead mode.

A Ultralead showed up in Portland recently. I passed on it. I have always preferred the Sig X and Deliverance over the Pittbull amps. Still interested in seeing the ULII manual.

That's why they're small, and why someone like Dave Friedman could come in and crush them all business-wise. That Boomer mentality of making people wait for their precious product doesn't work with a customer that's used to having things from Amazon delivered next day.

Friedman does business the perfect way. He communicates immediately, is patient and helpful, and knocks out his work. I love working with him

I have played a deliverance several times. But never back to back with the ultralead. Tbh, I wasn't as big a fan of the deliverance, even though I always thought I would love it more than the ultralead. The ultralead very much surprised me...until i played it next to the huge punchers.

The vh4 is something I would love to try. I absolutely loved the vh2
Never played a more percussive amp.. Was kickin it with @Techdeth & he had me give it a go.. I loved it. I’d eventually like to score one. It defined “punch” for me.. Whether you like Adam Jones or not it made me understand why he wrote the way he did.. Shits bouncy.

whenever it's released it will still be before the BluGuitar Amp-X.

:dunno:

You really were blown away. The 85 through it was great

Don't think my UL will ever leave my side... shit is just right for me. With that said this new ul2 thing peaks my interest... Just wondering if there is a headshell version planned?

Piques, not peaks.
