Congrats on the new amp! That's quite the collection you've got going!

Nice Marsha, Brad. Quick noob question though.... What does CCV stand for, Cameron ____ ____

Congratulations, Brad!

Man, from the clips/internet descriptions sounds like it's THE marshall amp for me.. Gotta save up!

Hey, have you tried a Wizard? Can you compare the two?

Yes, the Wizard is cool in a AC/DC vein (makes sense). The Marsha is hot rodded Marshall while the Wizard is more true to the original and dry. Both real cool but if you want Saturation and High Gain tones Marsha is the one. Both Amps have a place though as they are different from each other.

My Bluesbreaker reissue is on the way to Dave for Mods. I did give up my place in line for my Marsha. This Marsha was sourced from a buddy of mine.

Congrats brad, someday i dream of owning one.
While most peeps around here worship and lust for fortins and camerons i always wanted a marsha.

Brad you making a bold statement here. I look forward to your clips/vids. There must truely be some great tone to this amp if someone with your amp experience is liking it. There are tons of amps I wish I had the cash to buy and this is one of them. Can it do the really heavy stuff convincingly? Stuff like Pantera or Nevermore? I'll bet it does the 80's metal/shred thing as good as anything ever built.

Not a Pantera type amp although I am sure you can get close to it., best bet for that stuff is a Herbert IMO.

Can you give me a brief description of the differnces between a boosted Vintage Modern and the Marsha?

I love the VM for what it is and for what they cost they are a tremendous bang for the buck and I will always keep one around. That said the Marsha is just in another league, much fuller sound and much more articulate and 3 dimensional. When cranked the Marsha sings and hold together very well with out flubbing out.

I just checked myself, I didn't realize it was that much? How many "better" components are used since it looks just like a Metroamp kit from the start?

I have a Dave Friedman modded Mr Scary module for the Randall Egge modular amps. I have every confidence in Dave's ear for tone and tech abilities. I'm not going to trash the price. If Dave can sell them at that price then good for him. Regular folks will never get there hands on one unless the go for much lower on the used market. Back when I was single yeah I could probably swing this. Now I have 3 kids and there is just no way I'm buying an amp for 4 grand without getting divorced. Down the road maybe I can but not this year.

Actually it's not that big of a deal for me. The New Nevermore CD has me gassing for an ultra high gainer and Engls go for pretty good prices used. I miss my old Powerball sometimes. Hell I miss most of the amps I used to own, especially the SLO, XTC101b and Mk IV.

I understand that the Marsha is a great amp with killer tones but there are no other clips or vids that I have seen that top the Fortin Cali. My word doesnt mean jack shit as I have never played either but I am getting my duckies in a row and I will have Fortin Cali before its all said and done. The Marsha clips and vids I have heard sound exactly as Brad describes but the Cali just has a different Mojo to it and thats seperates it from the field for me. Mod'd or not its the best high gain Marshall tone I've heard.

That and the effects loop and master volume BLOW AWAY a stock JVM. Most transparent FX loop I've ever heard...and I've never played an amp before that sounds that good and that alive at below TV volume (not to mention all other volumes).

Dave's master volumes don't get nearly enough credit.
