Unpopular Music and Gear Opinions that Should be More Popular

Is it unpopular to think you can tell a lot about a fan of heavy music by learning exactly when they stopped liking Metallica and for what reason?

“They sold out when they wrote that pussy ballad ‘Fade to Black,’ fuckers”
“the Black Album was when those fuckers went full pop”
“fuckers cut their hair and went full divorced uncle when they made Load/ReLoad”
“the riffs in Death Magnetic were ok but there was so much clipping it just turned me off the whole thing”

…all represent entirely different but distinctly recognizable groups of people.

Napster is when I realized they weren't metal. :ROFLMAO:

Eagles are the most overrated band, along with U2. Nickelback vs. Creed -- not sure which is worse.

Scooping out the midrange in a guitar amp with high gain is "fine" -- guitar does not need to be a midrange tone all the time.

The 1990s were the last really good decade of music.

Are any of these unpopular opinions?

Sort of. I do like that one album I can't even remember the name of it. The one with Evenflow, Black, etc. You know what though? I sort of resent Eddie Vedder. Why? Because there were dozens and dozens of bands that tried to sound like his voice and it got really tiring (Bush for example).

This comment was quite the journey lol. Had me in the first half. I was asking because you can't be an Eddie Vedder fan and then hate Creed. Pretty sure Scott Stapp was trying to Eddie Vedder every song he wrote

Classical is metal without distortion.

yeah pretty much brad pitt.gif

I got sued by metallica over the napster thing. Received an attorney's letter and everything. At the end I had to submit a copy of my hard drive to show there were no metallica songs on it and the lawsuit was dropped.

Imagine being a broke 20-something year old and getting sued by the biggest band on the planet. Can anything be more metal than that?

The sad part is I owned all their albums up til then. I only downloaded their songs because it was easier to do that than rip the wav files from the CD and convert to mp3.

Winamp... It kicks the llama's ass!
