This plus the stimulus checks gave everyone more disposable income. Some new items were also in very low supply. A couple months ago a Fryette PS-100 was hard to find and if you did people were asking insane prices.Markedman":3qziew26 said:Most of us still have our jobs but we're not buying concert or sporting event tickets. GC jumped their used Marshall prices before Covid. At least 6 months before. I’d been looking for a stock vintage NMV Marshall, found one for 1500 (Canadian with the lay down pt) and waited too long to pull the trigger..a week later they moved the price to 2200.lespaul6":3va15qwx said:RaceU4her":3va15qwx said:i thought for sure prices would be going down during all this bullshit but i was wrong. i did find a couple pretty killer deals locally so i cant bitch, but some amps ive been eyeing for a while like a fender prosonic went from $7-800 are going for $1200+ nowpeavey XXX's that were $4-500 for years are now $8-900
this is what i'm seeing too.... GC used has ramped up the prices of marshall and fender etc... you could get a prosonic for 500 bucks, a tonemaster (custom shop) for 999, a reissue plexi or 2203x for 1100.... no more, everything is inflated now.

Not that long ago a member local to me said the local techs wouldn't take his amp (or quoted a very long wait). So I knew amp repair had spiked but did not know it had already come back to reality.blackba":3i8rp85v said:glip22":3i8rp85v said:This is only true for lower dollar gear. This is my experience as well. I have seen a big slow down on amp repair in the recent month. The lack of gigs is really putting a damper on that. It had picked up big time when stuff opened up.
