I've seen a few Martin DX1s that have a Made in USA soundhole sticker badge. Then I've also seen the same model with a Made in Mexico badge. What gives?

They started making them in Mexico about 5 years ago. Right after that, they stopped making Sigma.

The early ones were made in the U.S., newer ones in Mexico. I have a U.S. one and the neck is solid mahogany, and the MIM have a neck made of Stratabond....whatever that is. There may be other differences, but the neck wood is definitely something that changed after the switch.
