Yeah that is outstanding work there...M75s, correct?

No, actually BH75. I found out about them by accident. I did a bunch of clips for Jim Seavall for almost all of his speakers and he left a BH75 and a H55, at my place that we never used. So I tried it and loved them. The BH75 is brighter, but I did use the M75 on another clip I posted of Romeo Delight. I like the BH75 the most and the M75 a very close 2nd. I also have the H75,S75PVC and Scumnico, all great speakers!

You scored big time!. Mine was originally a brand new Metro 68' 12000 and David Friedman (recommended by George Metropoulus)modded it to Metro/Friedman specs plus he took out the fx loop and master volume and he switched the power tubes to EH 6ca7. Killer amp as you'll soon will see! You just have to crank it up to 10! Post some clips when you get it!!! I would love to hear it!

Yeah I'll be loading it down and then into my Torpedo CAB. Will do!

If you decide to get rid of it keep me in mind for sale!

I used an Aracom attenuator which was the last prototype of the newest one made for me to try out as a dummy load which is the most transparent I've used for the slaved version and as an attenuator for the non slave version I have gone through many of them. I tried the new Torpedo reload and I liked it but the power amp was to weak so I couldn't get the amp loud enough to record louder guitar tones and it lacked the top end of the Aracom. The only issue I have with the Aracom I have to use a DI box and then a re amp box between my amps and power amp because I get a nasty squeal. The line out has a pull/push pot for engaging low pass filter so you can do DI recording but it sounds like crap so I use it with out it for slaving.

I use a NOS Amperex Bugle Boy on V1 which gives me a bit more gain, but the Chinese tube they Dave Friedman uses on his amps also sound good. You can sometimes get them at a reasonable price.

Well I just got the amp...unfortunately, no sound. Tried pulling /swapping tubes, fuse, etc. Nothing.

Talk about a kick in the nuts...

Oh no dude! Do you live in Ca? Were did you buy the amp? Dave would take it in a figure it out. Also George Metropoulus. I'm sorry to hear that!

I live in Northern VA, got it from Destroy All Guitars. Cliff had George reach out to me, so maybe it'll get resolved tonite. Otherwise, I've got to ship it back to MI, which will blow!

I hope you don't have to return it, I purchased my Metro 68' from Destroy all guitars and Cliff is a straight up guy who aims to please. I hope it's something simple. I don't know if they offer a warranty on used gear, but a place like Destroy all guitars should get your issue sorted out from my experience with Cliff. I hope you get the amp working so you can enjoy it.
If you get it fix, although I believe the Metro/Friedman has a built in Variac, I still use one so I can select different voltages since I think it only has a set voltage of 90 or 95 and there's also a small difference between the variac on the amp which resets the bias on the power tubes and an outside variac which it doesn't reset the bias(of course) I use both depending on the tone I want. Good luck bro!
