Anyone own both the classic 2100-C and 2150-S and find themselves wanting the added tone shaping on the classic to also be used on the 2150-S.

It is a bad shot but there's a voicing switch and I cannot live without it. I just emailed Steve asking if he can add it to my 2150-S somehow.

Pretty sure I saw a 2150 with the voicing switches for sale online somewhere just the other day, I remember thinking it was a bit odd so it probably wasn't a 2100/Classic... so it's probably doable, even if I guess Steve had his reasons for not revisiting the basic 2150 and adding the switches when the 2100 came out. I'll see if I can find the ad again.

That I would like to see. Find it bro, that's news to us. I emailed Steve and asked him about the voicing mod. I only received an automated response. I'm hoping to hear back about it.

I have a Classic XXX and 2150, and agree that the voicing switch is wonderful. Instantly toggle between warmer, rounder mids with slightly rolled off highs or a more aggressive tone with beefier lows and highs. Then fine tune everything with the ultra responsive presence and depth knobs.

The half power switch on the Classic is cool too, but I usually run full power. Hopefully you get a response from Steve, following!

My ‘90’s 2150 also has those voicing switches on the back. Seems like it’s not uncommon for them, but I agree it’s an important feature

I would like to know what that switch does.
It's something related to the feedback loop...maybe?

I was curious so I checked out a bunch of past listings on Reverb for 2150's. FYI you can look up all the past listings for a specific product by searching for the product and then adding the following clause on to the end of the url: &showsold=true

So I typed this into my browser's bar: https://reverb.com/marketplace?query=vht 2150&showsold=true

Looking through photos, I found a couple examples of 2150's with the voicing switches, but most did not have them. This is a peculiar detail that I was unaware of. Maybe Steve or Dave at Fryette can shed some light.

My 2/50/2 has the voicing switches per channel. I’ve never tried tracing it out, but it sounds to me like it’s reducing negative feedback. Not sure if anything else is being done.

Very cool pics Dave L! Well there's the proof i guess. My 2150 doesn't have the voicing switches but my og 2150 owners manual shows the voicing buttons on it. Very interesting.

I wonder if those 2150s that have the switches on them were from a certain year? Or a limited run or something?
My poor 2150 now feels incomplete, alone, rejected, and left out from the cooler 2150s ?...see what you started exo??? Lol
