Well, it happened again, the volume dropped on the lead and rhythm channels but not the clean. So I have had this problem happen before and VHT told me how to fix it, so I did and it was fine. This time, I checked that same resistor that I replaced and it was fine but I replaced with a new one anyway. I changed preamp tubes around to see if it was a bad tube and it wasnt. I emailed them and haven't gotten back to me yet. I know they are going through some changes over there but I could use some help, I'm hoping it isnt anything more serious this time and Im also getting pretty sick of this happening even if it's not more serious. I bought this amp so I wouldnt have to use pedals and for the reliability of having a new amp. It has enough gain so I really dont have to boost it and I dont but the reliability obviously has been a little lacking. The clean channel went out on it once too and I fixed it the same way but it was a different resistor. I'm not one to dis a company , I know they make alot of great stuff, I'm just a little frustrated man.

Got here as soon as I could! Everything OK???

  sorry, just a little comic relief.

  , So they got back to me and I'll look at a couple other things tonight that they suggested.

and, it's fixed again, easy fix, just a resistor but still a bit of a bummer.

I had the same problem a year ago.
I replaced all the preamp tubes after the resistor failure and it's been fine ever since.
Sorry you're experiencing so many problems with it.

I've read about this a few times with the SigX. Did they underspec resistors or something? Does putting in a higher wattage handling resistor stop it from happening?

I dont know really, I wouldnt want to do that and have something worse happen because of it. They didnt suggest that when I emailed support so I'm guessing no. But they did say not to use EH preamp tubes which I dont use anyway and they suggested to let the amp warm up at least a minute on standby which I normally do.

Maybe you should change your avatar pic to a thumbs down. Or maybe just a thumbs-sideways or something. ;)

All these Sig X problems I've read make me relieved I sold mine off awhile back. I had #11. It was a cool amp though.

Wow, what a trip that we have had like 4 out of the first 15 made right here. I love this amp, hopefully this will not keep happening, I was getting the coolest tones on the rhythm channel after I fixed it last night, I was running an analog delay and fish n chips eq. through the loop, it was bad ass.

Sig X is still my favorite channel switcher.
Dynamics are very important to the way I play.
