CRAZY IDEA!!!!!!!!!!! :D

UPDATE - I just got through comparing the two amps again, but this time I used the rhythm channel on the UL with the boost engaged. Man, that's ALOT closer. They're pretty close in tone, but the Landry has something extra special in the treble that sounds sweet.

They were alot closer in "punch", though. Probably about equal in punch now (using the rhythm channel on the UL.)
I believe you are talking yourself into keeping the UL

I wish I could try out the Landry. I know I would love it.

Here's my update ...
Still have not charged up the screw gun to get at my cabs.
I cant stop eat Heath Bars and am starting to feel sick. :aww:

LOL! But that's the thing. I don't really need two amps that cover the same ground, ya know? You know me well... You know I'm just addicted to buying/selling/trading no matter what. :)

I am keeping the Landry for a long time, though. Mark my word.
Maybe a swap in the future for the roadster huh!!

The Landry is one of the best amps I've ever heard. Period.

I may go down and check out that fifty watt.

Dude, just BUY ONE! I don't think you'd be disappointed at all when you get home and hear it in your environment. Seriously! It's awesome Dave and would probably keep you happy for a long time.

(Then you can shitcan that crappy Budda you have! lol... Kidding.)

Seriously, the price tag is getting me, especially when I'm having to take two weeks (and maybe more) unpaid furlough this year due to the poor economy. I am saving up pelts to barter with Bill once Obama and the gang kill the economy.

Don't encourage Chris. He's just jealous because he can't play with reverb or delay!

Here is what I am hearing in the clips:

The VHT actually kind of reminds me a bit of my mesa mark IV overall. It seems to have a more modern tone to it and seems pretty tight overall.

The Landry seems like your hot rodded marshall. The Cleans were great, not really Fender sounding to my ears, but good. The Gain was typical souped up marshall sound. It seems like you enjoyed doing this clip much more than the VHT. The sounds you got out of the Landry are pretty seem to be in the same vein as you got out of your DSLs you had in the past.

BTW, saw your bass clips on youtube too. I really like that acoustic amp, sounds nice and smooth. Kind of a warm funky sound. You use a pretty light touch on the bass, I tend to pluck too hard. Can that acoustic amp get any growl to it, like I am used to with my Ampeg SVTIII pro?

Chris, I nearly thought the Landry was going when I saw this title.

I'm into Vox tone, so I'm probably way off base here, but IMO FWIW:

I second the Marshall hand wired 1974x, this thing sounds amazing - this is the Marshall tone I could get used to!

Do either of these hit the tone you want?

What does the VHT really provide that the Landry doesn't?

Those both sound great!!! But I can get similar type of "vintage" tones from the Landry using the clean channel with the gain up or the distortion channel without the high gain mode. No, it's not exactly like a NMV Marshall, but I mean, it's close enough for me.

It's the super heavy rectifier type of tone I can't get. I know the SLO doesn't do that either, but that's an amp I've always wanted to try. lol...

Maybe you need a Herbert dude. I think you do :)
