Was there ever a rev 1 or something before the rev 2 Uber?
The ORIGINAL :D

And by God it hurts...
Like the hammer of GOD!!! :gethim:

I brought my Mesa Roadster... Seems I brought a knife to a gun fight

If the Bogner Custom Shops weren't so damned expensive over here, I would happily get some.
I just looked it up now, and the XTC (with no accessories) is US$6.330...

Basically... if https://www.thomann.de doesn't stock it, it aint worth buying.

EBAY?

Yeah it would great for me, with the exchange rate from Euro to Dollar... But when it arrives, it has to go through customs, and since music equipment is taxed as a luxury item, you will receive such a blow to the head that it would literally be... well... Death by Uberschall. :gethim:
And for those reasons, its very rare that it will actually come up in Europe on Ebay.

It will only really be realistic once a MAJOR online music outlet starts carrying them.
Thomann have actually started carrying Suhr, so I chuffed to bits with that.
When they start carrying Bogner Custom Shop, I am bundling them two MOFO's... WHOA the pain and death I am gonna cause!!!

Only if it's rohs compliant. Lead is really for the hard core enthusiast.

I believe I was the first person to get a TJ. I had #2 and the first one was at the guys store that I bought it from. When I first got it I really dug it. The more I played it the more I realised that channel 1 was basically usless. Sucky clean and not near enough gain to it. Channel 2 was cool for that hard rock/ 80's metal vibe but I couldnt dial a good heavy tone out of it at all. I liked the pres and depth knobs. They were cool to tailor the overall tone. I have had every version of the Uber and I like REV 2 the best. To me the Uber is supposed to be a kick you in the teeth brutal amp. The TJ was not near that.

The Uber I'd want would be 3 channel, with great cleans, versus blue's cleans, 2nd crunch channel kinda like blue channel 101b & 3rd channel like blue rev's 2nd channel & with a powerful transformer with 6 EL34s & midi. I also realized that it wasn't going to happen, because it would drive the cost up & they would have to price it about 4K or higher.

Hahaha, Herbert.

nbarts, I get a chance I will have try that. Never thought about it before.

Just goes to show we don't all hear or like these amps the same. Fortin prefers the TJ over earlier versions too. I have owned them all back to the 6550 early versions. The TJ is better than all previous incarnations. I also have a new Triple Rec here and have had lots of Herberts and the TJ is a better amp to me than either of those though I think the new Triple is great. Still take the TJ over either.

I thought you were gonna bag on the amp too Steve. It is indeed a sweet amp.

Exactly, it should have been Bogner's Herbert or, let me rephrase, that's what I would want. Uber's 2nd channel has always been a sweet metal machine on all the revisions, the only problem - that's all there is. If you want some other tones, you have to buy another amp & thousands of dollars worth of other equipment so you can have that Uber sound in your live rig. That's just way too much & more so for an amp that starts to suffocate once you get it really up there.

All this talk of revisions and all, but does it really matter in the long run, I mean I guess it's why music today sucks so much...

Revision this, revision that... the main thing is I've put all of them up my nose before amps were even amps at this point.... :scared:

Bogner
: Ya know what would sell me on an Uber without all that? A foot-switchable 2nd master, or barring that, on either channel, a second volume and second gain control.

The Recto thing: I don't know how many times I've heard you tell me you hate Rectos   By the way, I FINALLY have my Dual dialed in to sit with Rick's Uberschall. Only took me 2 fucking years

TJ has a switchable second master in the form of its loop, which can be set at a higher level then switched in.

I'd like to check out a TJ, I have an early uber I bought from R/T Brad and it is eeeevil! I ran it in stereo with a '92 rackmount rectifier and I thought I was going to summon demons or something, it was badass.

I mean I guess it's why music today sucks so much...

Really??? I mean, if I had to compare to classical music I would have to agree with you, but I don't think that's what you mean. As far as comparing today's band's to 70-80s music, IMO there are a lot of better bands today, of course you won't find them aired on the radio, but that's another topic of discussion.

I do agree that revisions don't make a difference.

Actually you can the 2nd master thing on rev blue if you don't use the loop for EFX.

Rectros are good amps. I personally can't stand them because they sound too regular, I've been hearing that sound for so long that I would really prefer not to hear it again.

I bought Tonmazz's TJ and it was the first Uber I ever had. Ending up trading it for an Axe Fx but that is gone now too. Now I have a Rev. Blue and for me it is the Rev. Blue all the way. It just sounds/feels better to me. Another thing from what I remember is the fx loop seem's to not lose as much tone as the TJ's one did.

Wow!! I didn't know you did that, the Rev Blue is a beast. Yeah and I didn't want to make this a gash fest on the Twin Jet because clearly there is a lot of mixed opinion, I was just curious what others thought because they do seem to come and go pretty quick. Great amp in many ways but in comparision to the Older Uberschall just prefer that set up. Seems like a lot of people do as well. Bogners are great no matter what, lets be honest. It's all personal preference I guess.
