I'd call myself a casual fan. (Enough to listen to their 'Best Of' pretty regularly)
I've dug Tommy's voice ever since I first heard him on the Damn Yankees singles from the 80's.
My first exposure to their catalog beyond 'Come Sail Away' was their Return To Paradise concert I caught on VH1 or something. I remember thinking JY was quite a solid player and I thought to myself 'I wonder why I never really hear guys referring to him as an influence.'
I also really dug their vocal harmonies.
"Fooling Yourself" is definitely a favorite!
Ah, revisionist history...for those old enough to remember, Styx ruled the world for a span of about 5 or 6 albums. That's about as good as it gets for ANY rock band.
Havent seen it yet, but it sounds like the keyboard player= Jannick (sp?) when kinda killed the vibe in the Iron Maiden tour DVD acting a little too goofy...
