I'd say in the US, if you have a net worth of $5M, that's sufficiently wealthy; but I think a better minimum net worth is $10M; in 2024, you need a net worth of $11.6M to be in the top 1%. For the ultra wealthy, I'd start that at $50M; I'd imagine once you have several hundred million (under $1B) your opportunities for growing net worth are significant...and increase once you surpass $1B and beyond.

Even a simple math example, if you have $1M, with a 5% annual return (low), compounded annually over 10 years = $1,628,894.63

I think that's pretty naive. At some level of wealth, waaay above $5M, I guarantee that you are a playing a political game as well, taking advantage of rules, regulations and high level connections in order to further your interests and keep competition at bay. It is easily acknowledged to be the case in Mexico, but somehow not in the US? Everyone is usually complaining about corruption here, but when it comes to the American Dream everyone thinks we live in a capitalist utopia?
