Were to go after a recto?

So Ive been rocking a triple rectifier for the last few years and Im getting the itch for something different.
Now I really dig the recto sound for the most part, there is that BIGNESS to them that just makes me smile sometimes!
I play straight up modern rock, think Seether...Foo Fighters...stuff like that so I need a channel switcher with a decent clean channel for the occasional clean part in a song and a balls to the wall gain channel.

What are some amps out there that would make me feel at home coming from Recto?
Bonus points for something with a great Fx loop that works well with pedals and rack gear.(is that even possible?)
Would like something with 3 channels but not a deal breaker.

I was living a very sheltered amp life before I found Rig Talk and it has opened my eyes to a whole new world of amps so bring on what you think I would be happy with.

Thanks for looking!!

Obviously very recto-esque but worth checking out would be a Mesa Roadster

If you decide to venture out of that "recto" sound-the possibilities are endless. Either way-have fun with your tone hunt, try not to let it get too out of hand.  :D

If you want to stay in Recto territory, Mesa improved the clean channel and reverted to a serial FX loop on the new Multi-Watt Dual/Triple Recto, which fits your description to a T.

If you'd like the addition of a second clean and built in reverb, the Roadster also fits your description. The second clean channel is great as you can dirty it up and hit some "in between" tones... it's handy for when clean is too clean and high gain is way too much.

Thanks for the input so far guys!!
I am kinda looking to jump ship on Mesa and try something different.
My other guitar player also plays a recto so im kinda looking for something that will complement it while having a tone that stands out from it....know what I mean?

I too played rectos for years and went on a similar search due to hating the lead tones I was getting. I am using 5150 for now and I am very pleased with the rhythm and lead tone. However, of the amps I have owned between then and now I would have to say a Diezel of some sort may fit the bill. I had an Einstein that had great cleans, ripping leads and crushing rhythm tones but any Diezel will do depending on your tastes. Soldano would certainly work as well. But as others have said there are tons of amps that will deliver. Do you have any stores near you to demo some different amps??

A Diezel is way up high on my list to try but have no way of checking them out in person, same thing with other brands...Nobody remotely close to me carries cool brands of amps.....

Might not be one that would instantly come to mind but check out the Marshall JVM410.

My buddy used his roadster and JVM in stereo for a while-they complimented each other VERY well. So I know from experience, the JVM with your guitar player's recto will sound great.

And obviously yeah-Diezels FTW!

Any Mesa Mark amp. Most Marshalls. Peavey 5150. Pretty much anything with high mids.

Since your used to the Recto sizzle, anything you hear is going to sound way different.
I've been in this spot and I ended up with a Mark series and an Uberschall, but the cleans
On the Bogner were/are terrible.

Fryette Deliverance 120 .... try it, you might like it.

get a mark 5 . the mark 5 is super modern sounding has insane punchy low end on extreme mode and is all around very versatile, there are hundreds of tone possibilites in this amp . the loop is amazing and cleans are just so deep and shimmering

everytime i think of selling mine i keep changing my mind and end up keeping it

Try a 20th Ann. Shiva. There's many different tones found in that amp and the the clean kills.

Dave Friedman's Marsha or Naked? Peters Dual Channel or Uber? I played a Recto for years, know exactly how you feel. Try a old Mark III out as well.

I'd go with something very different...but with the same massive fill the room low/low mid type amp.....VHT UL!
