I am thinking about setting up a WDW rig at home. Currently, my signal chain looks like the following:
Guitar --> pedalboard (wah-tuner-OD) --> Lehle Little Dual switcher:
• Output A from the Lehle runs into a BE100 --> Friedman 2x12 on one side and an Orange 2x12 on the other
• Output B from the Lehle runs into a Diezel Herbert --> Mills Acoustics 2x12 in the center
My time-based effect (TC Flashback) is in the loop of the BE100.

Am I correct in guessing this is just a W-D rig with the Wet being in stereo? What can I do to take the next step? Do I have to get a stereo effects processor? What else would I have to do?

Any input is greatly appreciated.

You have wet dry. Not stereo, your effects are only one one side and the flashback is mono.

Wet dry wet is three amps. One dry (center), one for left side effects and one for right side effects.

I have found it is more trouble than worth.

I prefer wet dry like you have already or wet/wet stereo which would require a stereo pedal patched into both amps loops.
Good grief, is this 2009?  You don't need three amps for WDW; one amp for dry and a single stereo power amp will handle the wet signal just fine (in fact, I'm pretty sure this is what they were designed for). Not arguing that it's still more of a pain than it's worth...yes, the OP needs a third if he wants to keep the BE and Diezel. If he's willing to let one go, he can replace it with a stereo power amp for his wet signal. Heck, a Matrix 1000 can be had for ~$500 to accomplish this. From there, just make sure the FX are stereo.

Um? An amp and a stereo power amp IS three amps and one preamp in 2017.
No. No it isn't. One head + one stereo power amp = WDW. That's all you need. Sure you can do it your way, but why would you?

Are you serious?!!!

OK, Ill try one last time using your example:
"One head + one stereo power amp = WDW."

I agree, however that IS 3 amps and 1 preamp.

The amplifier head has one preamplifier and one power amplifier.
The stereo power amp has two power amplifers.

That is 1 preamp and 3 amps.

That is also the minimum REQUIRED for a W/D/W setup though it can be achieved multiple ways but never with LESS.

After a decade as a touring guitar tech you learn a few things...

Ok, I took the plunge on a WDW rig. I got a Mark L Dual Line mixer, Lexicon MPX1 effects, and a Matrix power amp coming off the line out of my BE100. Also have a couple of Friedman 112's inbound for the wet cabs. Decided to route the Herbert thru the Mills and Orange cabs. With the Lehle out front I will be able to play all at once. Should be monstrous!

Excellent choices :D and since that MLC is a dual line mixer, you may need to fight the urge to buy a second MPX1   ......

Get earplugs.

Rack Rig 11 a.jpg

This is my W\D\W rig. Hopefully this will clarify if there is any confusion. The rig is run in stereo on both wet and dry sides. The Dry side is powered by a stereo 50/50 power amp and the wet side powered by a Crown XLS402 stereo power amp. Marshall cabinet is 2x2-12" L\R and the wet side is 2x12" in each of the wet cabinets R\L. The boxes on the floor are the vocal PA wedges and are not used in the guitar rig.

At no point in the system is the dry signal introduced to the wet signal. Splitters take the dry signal to each individual FX processor. The processors output is sent to a 8 channel mixer to blend the FX signals (only) to a summed output which feeds a stereo 15 band EQ then to the Crown amp.

Some great WDW setups! I'm a new member to rig talk and coming into this thread a bit late but realizing that covid lockdowns have resulted in some of us dusting off some old gear and hooking everything up and experimenting.
I've been out of the music scene for a while and pretty much play for home now so here's the current hybrid setup I've managed to concoct:
Guitar>Morley Wah/Volume>TS-9>SD-1>Radial Class A Twin City ABY.
Twin City Outs:
Channel A>Digitech RP255(Clean w/a bit of reverb, loops, some modulation FX)>Orange Micro Dark/Kustom 12" Cab.
Channel B>Digitech RP500(Stereo w/breakout)>NU-X Atlantic Delay/Reverb.
The Atlantic is running in stereo out to 2 ss amps: Cube 60 left side. Fender Princeton Reverb right side(Princeton also has stereo function for the 2 10"s).
So far, minimum noise, or hum or phase issues thanks to the Twin City ABY.
I know it's a bit low tech setup but under the current conditions I've been able to experiment with some interesting ambient sounds and textures as well as some tight funky groove tones. Look forward to some more great rig talk posts. Regards, TV

Coming in late to the thread, but my hybrid W/D contains an FX processor running in stereo(Channel B of my ABY box).
Check out my recent reply for the setup. TV
