What’s the optimum weight for a Les Paul? And is there such a thing as too heavy?

I dont gig, but i stand playing for between 30 mins and an hour and have never noticed the weight of any guitar. I must have had light ones. It has never occurred to me that guitars were heavy til i saw the gear page posts about it

You have to wonder what these little fellas lift in the gym (if they go), 5 lb padded dumbbells? Wait, two of those together weigh a back-breaking 10 lbs, so maybe they only lift one at a time.,,,about the same weight as a large purse. 👛

Norlin’s are heavy. And they’re fucking glorious. Heavier the better.

I had a 14lbs Norlin Goldtop that was awesome. Unfortunately, stolen. I spent all my collected can, bottles, and gardening money to get it used. I think I paid $400 for it back in 1980. It was in pristine condition when I got it. I played it a a few gigs before it was stolen...

But, yes, it was too heavy. It warped my collarbone so much that my family doc had me replace the strap with a really wide padded one....lol.. RIP Dr. Katz

I would have no problem finding a place for a 13 lb vintage Norlin.
