What’s the scoop on this IIC+?

It looks like the real deal, except for the aftermarket head shell. I can tell from the lack of dovetail joints. Mesa cabinets are joined together using a dovetail joining system and they never put a wood brace in the back using that type of screw. The serial number is where it should be to be considered a "factory" C+, not a modded C+. Simul-class, Graphic equalizer, Reverb, that's known as a DRG, and just shy of an X for export transformer which is very desirable for sure.

If you paid less than $3,000.00, you got a good deal.

Let me know if you pass on it, I'm interested.

There should be DRG or similar written in sharpie on side of chassis and there also may be service stickers there. But it's kind of a PITA to pull the chassis just to look.

Looks good to me, but you never know these days. If I bought it and it shows up, other than loop test, how else could I verify?

It's legit. Serial # pretty much verifies it. They started around 12300 and ended in the high 14K..that one is 13K so its all good. The Simuls have more sag, squish if you will compared to the 60, 100 or Coliseum. Some feel the simul is the penultimate C+ and may command 4-5K for an original, more if it's a long head. Others like me favor the Coliseum as the top model. But all C+ will have this amazing feel; like no other amp out there.
I say go for it; you won't be disappointed. If you still aren't sure of the authenticity just call Mesa customer service, give them the serial and they'll tell you which model it is..confirming that it's the real deal. Only way that's not real is if someone faked the serial number...but it looks real to me.
Also, if you get it just pull the chassis and look at the preamp board..it will have an RP10/11 etched on the side. Only way an amp can be a C+ is with either an RP/SP 10 or 11 preamp board. The 10s are from the 2C and Mike B can upgrade it to a +. The 11 is already upgraded at the factory when it was made.

Awesome, thanks. I had a 60 watt about 15 years ago with 100 transformer. Loved the amp, to this day it’s got a magic, something higher on the fretboard that nothing else has. I like a more forgiving/squish feel so I have been hunting the Simul/GEQ/105 combination, cant wait.

Should be a killer amp for you...let us know when you get her!

Run your Vol 1 knob real high, and bring in the Lead Drive to taste. Much thicker tone when done this way, it hits the tone stack harder.

Isn't the tone stack pre gain though in a mark series?
