You guys complaining about component parts having a 20% tolerance would shit about some of the stuff that was put in vintage Marshalls and Fenders :D

Haha no kidding! I would guess thats why some are magical and others are duds.

It went way beyond "tolerances" ..... they would just use what ever part was closest when they ran out of parts.

It's only part of the "magic".

Mesa F-30 1x12 combo.

sounded like ASS.....gain was crappy and thin. amp was noisy as fuck. i had to use it, it was supplied as backline on a gig.

REALLY hated that little fucker

Did nobody mention Hughes and Kettner..???
Triamp is absolute harsh shrill brittle garbage tone...
Anything else for them ive ever played or owned was spikey and harsh

I had a Triamp MKII and didn't like it at all. It was waaay too dark and very scooped sounding. All the treble and presence did was add harshness...not high end

I've found that the stock preamp tubes they use are awful, replacing them made all the difference. The Triamp MKII should sound amazing if setup right, same with the original Triamp. My buddy has a Triamp MK1 biased w/ JJs and it sounds insane.

However I will agree about some of the lower-end H&Ks, odd high-end to it. But I love the Triamp MKII.

Anything from Krank but I have to admit I heard a Chadwick that sounded good.

Also most Rivera amps.

Hughes & Ketner make shit guitar amps but the make good stuff for bass guitarists.
