Xenon? Woah, you must be from NJ right? I thought they were cool but they still had that "local band" kinda sound, if that makes sense.

And what do you mean by making it? A band like Big wreck should be a lot bigger than they are.

Child's Play............by far. The first band that came to mind when reading this title.

every band ive ever been in

also, though they arent necessarily the best musically i just think theyre hilarious. its not for everyone, its dark/black comedy.

bucketheads old band, Deli Creeps

I love "Grampa Bill" lol reminds me of my grampa

Rose tattoo, The Angels and Cold Chisel from Australia. In the late 70's, early 80.s these bands were ruling the roost back home but could never crack the U.S. America missed out in a big way.

i just realized my posted is stupid

best bands that never made it

"its not for everyone"

but i guess they could have gone somewhere, andy kaufman did, but he was better :D

These guys were local rock heroes when I was a kid. There album Rat Race is killer and I recommend checking it out. It still holds true to this day. They even brought it at recent shows.

The lead singer, Brian Jack, just died a few months ago.

Zebra

Amazing musicians. 3 piece that was a blend of Rush and Zep influences.

I still have on my iTunes and listen to several bands that went by the wayside or never "popped".

Some of them are:

Expanding Man
Magna-Fi
Earshot
Econoline Crush
Dope
Swell
Socialburn
10 Years

Several Aussie bands are shit hot and never really busted off the island in a big way. I listen to these guys a lot:

Sick Puppies
Grinspoon
Butterfly Effect

We did several dates with Socialburn back in 2006 - cool guys. Also did a handful with 10 Years - not so cool guys. :)

I really like Zebra, but I think you have to say that they "made it." Songs all over the radio, and videos on MTV, at least for a short while.

I do wish they had stayed on top longer.

Is it just me or does that guy have serious Steve Whiteman of Kix thing going on? I LOVED Kix!!!!! I think that they should have been bigger... I remember seeing them at HammerJacks WAY back in the day and they flat out blew me away and this was before they went national..

I do think there are similarities with Whiteman, after all, they both came from the Baltimore rock scene of the early 80's. They have that "Baltimore" color to there voices. I think you can consider Kix though as actually making it. I mean, when I pulled up into the driveway tonight Kix was on XM's Hair Nation for at least the 3rd time today. Kix was an awesome straightforward no bullshit rock band. Very classic/timeless sounding.

Right on, I had a bunch of friends in the Balitmore/Dc Area and it was always a blast when I came down. Come to think of it, Im pretty sure that I caught Childs play on several occasions and dug them. Truth is that I dont remember ever seeing a bad show from anyone at HJ's when we went there, that club kicked ass!!

As for your comments on Kix, couldnt agree more; Straightforward, no BS, Kickass attitude with the highest energy shows that you could imagine... Aside from whiteman, they were a sum of their parts and just brought it...

not sure if anyone mentioned but, you deserve to die if you did mention anvil.

that band might be worse than the melvins...and that fuckin says a LOT.

dont get me wrong, the perseverence is retard-like....but the songs are shit.
