What are the WORST hyped pieces of gear you've owned..

Sewell amps

Had 3 of them , and sold them all.

They were THE amps most Texas country players were using at the time I was gigging.

Doug Sewell now designs amps for PRS.

I obviously will never buy a PRS amp.

Bareknuckle Holy Divers. Just bland. Ew.

Didn't own, but I've borrowed R9s, R0s and R7s before and while I've never been disappointed with R9s and R0s, the R7 I borrowed was less than stellar.

I had the Dimarzio AT-1 like 3 separate times and swapped them out all three times. Bland and no cut.

Basically every time the internet or a winder hypes a pickup as "solving the Duncan JB's problems" I end up just straight up preferring the JB lol


EDIT: How did I forget about this one? The DSL100. I fucking hated that amp. I hate it, and I now have a distrust for every single person who says that it sounds good

i too am underwhelmed by both sets of bare knuckles that i have installed - juggernaut and polymath. a bit sad...

Marshall JCM 900 SLX head..
Plugged in, hit three chords and was like, "WTF is this Sludgy mess".
For an amp that was supposed to be hot rodded with that extra tube it was the most lifeless thing I ever played thru.
This was a brand new amp too. The store had just got it in for me and even the sales guy helping me was like "Ewww".
Dull, really saggy feel, and just not what they made it out to be.
