I have a '68 Fender bassman. I am running it through a Fender Bandmaster 212 right now with some great sounding Weber 12A125's. I plan to use this cab for my Bandmaster Reverb when I get done working on it. I have a small closed back 212 cab that I would put these in.

Here is what I am considering for the bassman:

Greenbacks (May get the warehouse clones if they release them) (Worried about blowing them)
G12H30's
G12-65 (May get the warehouse clones if they release them)
Classic Lead 80's

I already have a 212 with G12H30's and CL80's so for this extra 212, I would probably like to go for the other 2 options. However if one of those is recommended, I can change around what cabs I am using with what amps.

I've got a '64 Bassman that I finally put V30's in after reading that Brian Setzer uses 'em in his...I tried some Jensens and old Utahs as well. The 30's work very well...but I guess I like v30's with everything :)

I didn't know Setzer used V30's, that's surprising actually. I have a Gretsch Brian Setzer hot rod guitar, nice guitar. I have been playing that alot recently.

Not a huge V30 fan. I still have one left in my mesa recto 112 cab. I have tried them and G12T-75's in my small marshall 212 cab and the V30's were not a good fit in that cab. That's a big reason I didn't have them on the list. Of course that was with the laney Vh100R I had at the time, which I don't have anymore.

I have a cab I had custom made with Celestion Alnico Golds in it, and I'm freaking in love with them. I have a Diezel Einstein though, so this post may be completely stupid. I like the way they sound both clean and dirty. They are basically like an Alnico Blue with 50 watt power handling. Good luck, speaker choices were quite difficult for me too.

Those Alnico golds are great speakers. I have one in my AC30CC1 and it sounds great

I suppose I could get a pair and put them in my Vox 212 cab and run that with my AC30CC1 or Bassman. That cab has G12H30's in it right now, I could put those in the extra cab I have.

That's actually a pretty good option, just expensive, it will be a while before I can do that, but its a pretty good idea....

I am going to be using my bassman into a marshall 1922 copy that I am converting to a 112. So I figured I would get a 4ohm weber speaker.

Here is what I am thinking of:

Weber 12F150
Weber California
Weber Ceramic Blue Dog.

Any good options for classic rock?

I think the Alnico Gold is out of my price range. I love it in my AC30CC1, but I have been see reviews ripping it on the gear page forums surprisingly....

After hearing back from Ted I am debating between the Alnico 12A150 and the Ceramic 12F150. Not sure which one to get, Ted said the 50Watt versions will handle the power of my Bassman...

Looks like I will probably be going now with a Weber Michigan, there is a 4ohm version on ebay right now. I liked my Bassman with a 112 cab that had an EV EVM-12L, so I figure this might be a great way to go.

If I lose the auction I am going with a 12F150....
