No, science is a specific method for understanding our physical world. Again, people can observe natural phenomena and rely on it without practicing science.

Yeah, you can't do it in a way that is incontrovertible or not based on human derived, subjective classifications. Evolutionary theory is based on a lot of real evidence, but it is ultimately speculative. It's a great example of how scientific theory competes with and has pretty much superseded religion in modern culture.
You’re proving his point. The most you can say is that our current understanding according to XYZ is ___________. If you’re going to be a real scientist you need to retain a degree of humility, especially depending on the phenomena in question. Scientific understanding is a continual process of discovery and revising or discarding prior theory. There’s no such thing as “settled science.”
