I think he's good  This concert was killer.Hall of Fame Rock and Roll 25th. Some of these guys crawled out on the stage.

I like Tom Morello.... when he's in Rage.

His solos in that clip blew. Off beat, frequently off key, and totally inappropriate for the music in question.

Sounds like two cats either fucking or fighting. I don't care for him at all, never have.

I saw parts of the concert at different times on HBO, and it didn't do much for me either.

I think it's about time that he finally ditched the whammy pedal. But i liked that cool delay Morello had on his sound. Bruce looks awefully tight when he's playing leads, but being a songwriter, singer, band leader, etc i doubt he spends much time actually practing leads.

He was so out of key it was painful.
Terrible.

It's always amazing to me what players people think are great.

Having said that, I like Tom Morello's work.

I never really cared for him much  Needs to spend more time actually playing guitar and less time making stupid noises that anyone with no guitar experience can make   The noises can be cool if used sparingly but IMO it gets pretty annoying when it's in every song.

I liked when Smokie, BB King, Jeff Beck even Mick , Simon, Garfunkle, Lou Reed who is half dead came out on stage. These guys are old and it's about some respect. . Do you think you could do that at 80? Tom is ok. It was more about the old heads.

He needs to look at himself in the mirror and lower that guitar a few inches

Steve

I like his stuff with Rage, and really approached the guitar differently thatn anyone before. Not my favorite player, but interesting. I cannot stand Bruce Springsteen in any facet of his existence, so did not watch the video. Live RAM is a great band.

I think he needs to unplug his pedal board and learn some scales.

I love it when these rich musicians whine about Wallstreet fat cats

Im not a fan of his playing. His music does nothing for me.

I never gave him much thought either way.

Listened to a little Rage against the Machine back in the 90's....but not alot.
Never struck me as a GREAT Guitar player.....but the band was pretty cool.

he's actually a very accomplished player/shredder, he just takes a lot of inspiration from Dj's instead of other guitarists. the result is an unconventional approach to guitar.

just because he doesn't typically play guitar in a "normal" way, it doesn't mean that he can't

in answer to the OP's question, i was a huge RATM fan, and i even enjoyed the first audioslave record.

love him or hate him, he's innovative as hell and can actually play some cool traditional "shred" shit too. I like him and RATM. Also saw them twice a couple years ago and both shows were amazing.

I like alot of his stuff - never really listened to much RATM, but got into Audioslave and then went back & listened to the old stuff. He's a pretty unique player. I agree, sometimes the noise gets a little much, but overall I enjoy it. This particular clip I really enjoyed the delay and the leads he actually played- when he was going for the noise effects stuff not so much.

I like him alot. He likes to go from a raw style to a fluid style alot like vernon reid. Im not comparing.

But wtf was he doing singing with bruce? Shut up and play yer guitar :D

Also someone need to get him some wire cutters.

I like him, although I can understand the hate on here, with all the 80's fans that enjoy wankery

I will say some of that sounded out of place for that song, but I like Tom overall. you definitely always know it is him, and generally the best guitar players have a recognizable sound that you never confuse with someone else...

I agree. Some of it didnt fit the song to well. I thought it was cool though. I knew the 80s guys wouldnt like it.
