I really do like him. Never considered him overrated. If anything, as seen on this forum, there are a lot of people who do not care for him too much.

He's a good player, has written some of my favourite guitar riffs but has a tendancy to rely on a very similar sound which has resulted in the "One Riff Morello" jokes.

He's obviously both technically talented and creative though, I think he just needs some kind of really interesting musical project to bring it out in him, Audioslave were good but I think brought his playing back somewhat since they were more of a generic hard rock band than Rage.

A new Rage album would be great. He could do with switching out a few more of his effects maybe. I'm not sure how good switching his flanger for a phaser in, I used to always considered phasers more musical but nowadays they seem a bit weaker and more gimmicky, a Flanger can be used both for the sweep effects and like a Chorus.

He's a Trent Rezner on guitar. He makes some way cool noise with anything he can get his hands on.

That solo with bruce was a giant pile of turds! Tom cannot shred and no one here has proven me wrong. I like his dj scratch simulation but that is only a trick. The novelty quickly faded for me with this one trick pony. I like that he voices his beliefs. They do not always match mine but at least he is not afraid to speak.

I am not a huge fan of RATM neither am I a fan of Tom Morello but you obviously havent heard of lock up which was a late 80's band, Tom was the guitarist and he actually did shred, here is proof
