His ideas of "social change" and "social justice" brought about by his junkyard dog (aka: the government) forcefully remove money from my pocket and the pockets of other Americans who do NOT subscribe to his views on how a government should be run. He can cry distrust of government all he wants... but he'd LOVE to be holding the leash to that dog and would steer it to his own ends.

I'm old school. I believe that if someone wants something they shoud WORK for it and get it themselves. But for many of these bleeding-hearts... they've got this wacked notion that some people CAN'T acheive their dreams no matter how hard they worked.

I dont have a problem with your post save the part thats in bold. Ive seen a bunch of people that worked hard and never really went anywhere but thats life. Last I checked, America was called the Land of Opportunity, not the Land of Success; nothing is guaranteed...

Actually, you're right. There are NO guarantees here. And to the libs (the creators of "everyone's a winner/participant") that's the worst thing that could ever be. They don't stop to think that in the vast majority of this planet, for the vast majority of its history... there is/was ONE guarantee -- if you don't belong to the right family, you will NEVER succeed. They've painted it like that's how America is. But that's not true. Countless people have come here from other places and made something of themselves because they didn't have the freedom to do that where they came from. But it's still not a guarantee. And to a socialist, they would choose a guaranteed mediocre existence over a shot at the "big time". And that's the future that they seek to "offer" to every one.

And you're STILL missing my point. Seriously man... I can only say it so many different ways. I'm glad Tom's got a vote. But he would use his vote to elect people to FORCE social programs on me and others that we do NOT agree with. I would use mine to at least try to elect someone to stay the hell away from me and you and take care of the country's most basic needs. C'mon... do I need to get out some crayons and draw a stick picture for you?

He calls himself a nonsectarian socialist and he talks like one in other interviews. That said RATM's lyrics never mention anything about at the point of a gun taking from the haves and giving it to have nots..... it's all about how the "Machine" is corrupt and takes advantage of people.

Like I said I don't agree with him at all on his political views but that doesn't make me think he's an idiot. Nor do I think because he takes a very out of the box approach to the guitar that he sucks as a player.
