I had one and thought it was a very good amp for the price, just not top tier when compared to the good stuff IME. Guessing that’s maybe why they got a bit forgotten and perhaps not as good marketing as other brands

Did you have the DA50? I remember seeing Jer's NAMM video of that thing and the amp gas was unbearable for a bit. Then I think the Hiwatt kinda stepped on it's toes, right? Both were Fortin based if I'm not mistaken.

It wasn’t Fortin based, but had a very similar looking layout aesthetically from what I remember. Maybe they were built in the same place, not sure. I remember Fortin’s were made in England at the time. Not sure about now

The guy was at Hiwatt when they did the Fortin amp. Then he started/moved to Dover and they put out the eerily similar DA50. lol I think that factor that Dover was made in also made the Fortin Sigil and a similar looking Victory amp

Yeah I totally get all that, but it didn’t sound like the Fortin’s I’ve played. I’m guessing it was just the aesthetic design and maybe way it was built or types of components used, not that I would know

Yeah was not a Fortin design. Kee was at Hiwatt. He worked with Mike on the SuperHi.
All those amps, if I recall correctly were built by the same company that builds Orange and Victory.
They just came out at a shit time. Launched right before Covid hit and really got fucked because of supply chain shortages. Went down almost as fast as they blew up. For what it’s worth, they were solid builds and did sound good. They had a cool aesthetic I think and would have been a nice alternative to stuff that was out at the time. They weren’t priced too crazy either.
Kee is doing Valhalla amps now but now sure how much that brand is doing. Saw them at NAMM last year and the amps sounded really good as well.

Terrible non existent marketing. I ordered a DA 20 after seeing Jeremy's video at NAMM. I wasn't worried with it on person for the price I paid then I realized the DA20, the Fortin Sigil, and the Victory lunchbox amps were all made at the same factory.

I remember the name, but that's about it, Never saw one live or heard one. Sounds like he had some bad luck though, that sucks.

I came across one in a local music shop and gave it a try. There wasn't anything bad about it and it had a pleasing tone. There wasn't anything that knocked my socks off either. Overall I thought it was a good sounding but rather average amp.
