ya it's a great effects unit. love it. i don't use probably half of what it does tho. i use a little delay, reverb, little bit of chorus, little bit of phase, and maybe someday tremolo and panner   . does it all pretty damn well. will a bunch of stomp boxes for every individual thing sound better? probably but it's just so simple and i don't have to do a bunch of tap dancing! i can program my distortion to kick in with certain effects and same with clean and use with a behringer fcb1010. If effects was a HUGE part of my sound I would probably use stomp boxes though. I only payed $700 from the bay so i got it for a steal!

complete noob to fx, so this looks like the place to ask. What do you guys think are the best delay/reverb/chorus pedals to use in front of an amp? I have a carbon copy right now, and while I like it, I have a very very small range of usable settings for my tastes out in front. It sounds killer in a loop, and opens right up as far as settings, but I have multiple heads so I don't use the loops. Is there a benefit to digital or analog out front?

Meistersinger Chorus and Digidelay. Have an El Cap that I'm working on getting in the mix.

To my knowledge and from experience, the difference between the two is the sound of the units themselves. The benefit of using the pedal infront of the amp is having the effect added before the preamp. This comes down to preference and I find any time based effects seem to sound better in the loop. This as i said is all preference. The effects loop is great but when jumping between amps with or without the loop it can be hard to hookup effects.

Empress Vintage Modified Superdelay and a Dr. Scientist Cosmichorus!

Love them both!!! I highly recommend them both.

Echoplex EP-3

nice!

I would love to get a tape echo but I always get paranoid when i think about buying replacement tape cartridges. I know the wording on the fulltone website made it seem like they dont have alot to go around.

Stomps- Digitech Hardwire Delay and Boss Chorus Ensemble- Used in FX loop of my QR
Multifx- Line 6 HD500.

I am using a G major I and an Intellifex in my rack. They are great together.

Eventide TimeFactor
Eventide PitchFactor
or,
Axe FX Ultra (was...)
Axe-II (will be...)

El Capistan in the loop and currently using my Rocktron Xpression for Chorus. Not a fan of the Xpression's Chorus so may be looking at the Strymon option.

Keeley modded Boss CE-2 and DD-20 w/external tap tempo covers it all for me.
