What makes the Shuguang 12AX7 so great?

There's just this rawness, warm, buttery feel that I just totally dig w/ those preamp tubes in the EG3/4, GNR that I just love w/ the Chinese 12ax7as. Just plain love them to death

IME, China tubes in general =

highs = there, but not harsh
mids = there, but not honky or growly
lows = there, but tight and great

However, the old ones are perfect, the new ones are microphonic about half of the time

So you are saying you take a big chance when buying because of the microphonic nature of quite a few!?

Man, I've never had issue with a microphonic chinese tube. But I do get them from good vendors like Doug.
