Being liquored? Maybe. Although Dweezil, much like his dad, wouldn't tolerate that state on stage if it compromised the show.

I can see it now... Dweezil lifting Alan off the ground by the belt buckles and tossing him off the stage: "Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries, now go away before I taunt you a second time."

I don't think he's drunk or high. Further into the vid shows his dexterity is just fine. IMO, he is lost. He can't find the key. Like Vai, he can't jam very well.

That's possible, but his eye movement is "classic drunk" in my opinion. Does his dexterity seem fine to you for Holdsworth, or just that he started moving around the fingerboard a bit?

I'm sticking with drunk.

In the words of the late great... Maybe this music is simply "too statistically dense" for the likes of Holdsworth

im with bob-ah looks tweaked and like he is unable to connect his brain and vision to what he is doing with his fingers.

carl-i seriously doubt ah is unable to jam-that's all he ever does!

dweezil looks like he selected a chord progession that was totally open for ah to blaze on.
when i saw him at namm it looked like drummer virgil donati was mad at allan for not pulling his weight and showing up in a non performance state.

Yup he looks plastered... Gotta be a drunk moment, as i have seen plenty of recent vids where his playing is on top form.

1:30 is how i play

I love that man. I hope everything is ok with him.

all i did was type in weirdest video and voila

i couldnt watch all of either vid-i just can't believe this stuff is on youtube for any kid to stumble onto!

back to holdsworth

when he is on, he demonstrates what is possible for lead guitar players, and tonally he is a rack effects and gear genius.
