I don’t really like vintage 30s, but mix them with a cream 65 and it sounds good. Got a Bogner 2x12 long ago that had that combo and it’s still one of my favorite cabs.

I've been through many speakers, and the M65's have consistently been my overall favorite. Some speakers do certain things better, but to me they sound like a superior greenback. I tried hard to like the EVH greenbacks but ultimately dumped them. Not a fan of the H75. Mesa V30's can sound good mixed with M65's as well.
Only way to know is to try for yourself. If you hate them oh fucking well, now you know. Keep in mind the cab and the room can make any speaker sound like dog shit.

I had some M65s, I found they mixed very well with shipping boxes and FedEx!
