And why???????

I played a gig last friday in a small place with a 20 ft cord and it just kept gettin twisted.

I need a wireless.

Gimme suggestions please.

Im leaning twd the line 6 stuff. And i dont know why. Used to have an audio technica and a Nady back in the day.

My old Bass player used one of those new Line6 units and i'll admit, it sounded pretty good. The silly thing was, he never got more than 5/7 feet from his amp? I just always thought a good cable sounds so much better, but thats personal preference.

Waiting on my Schafer replica ...it's due early April ... It's suppose to be the shit!

Line 6 G50 here, I don't play far from the amp but I like the freedom, and I didn't hear any tone loss.

My entire band uses the G30's and we have had well over 100 shows without a single issue. I had the G50 but traded it for the G30 because I found the external antennas were cumbersome and I kept kicking them. Unbeatable for 4 times the price imo

From what I understand about this, which granted isn't much, it's about how much you want to spend and of core what your needs are.
If you need more than one wireless, for multiple guitars and such...that is one way.
If you just need one wireless and will switch the transmitter from one guitar to the other, then that's another way.

Personally, I use Shure. I don't have multiple units, so I switch my transmitter when I switch guitars.
It has become second nature to just unplug and plug back in. I switch about 4 times a show, in the middle of a set.
The Shure has been great. Dependable and most importantly uses AA batteries. So I can use rechargeable AA's.
I would HIGHLY recommend getting a unit that takes AA's for this reason. Saves on 9 volts.
I have a Shure mic as well and it uses AA's too.
The SLX model is enough for most clubs/events. No need for a 200' range.
When I am playing stadiums then I will consider the next level.

I spoke to Pete Thorn about this at one point and he said he was using Audio Technica.
The specific unit I can't recall at the moment, but it was in the $2000 range. A bit more than I can currently spend for wireless.
He said that the AT was awesome and he had never had problems. Plus, he is touring, so I take his word for it.
I would go that way if I had the $$ to spend

Good Luck

I've been using the same Nady 201 pack since 1991. Has never given me a single issue.

I've been using the Sony wireless for several months. Sounds great, and I've never had any issues with it at all.

I picked up Shure GLXD6 and have been gigging with it for over a month with no issues or tonesuck. The tuner is excellent and the body pack is very rugged and the clip holdsit very securely to a leather strap. I like how the receiver gives you a readout of battery life. I don't run all over likje I did in my youth but it has been liberating not dealing with a cable.

Use a Shure ULX in the rack and a Line 6 G50 with the pedals. The Line 6 was half the price of the Shure and in my opinion just as good. Both are very clear and notice no tone loss.
