What you guys think of the band BOSTON?

Always loved the debut Boston album. I got to see Boston in Vegas some years back when Brad Delp was still around and touring with them. Had a lump in my throat hearing them perform the songs live. The entire album is great, with no filler material, and still stands up today. Youtube has a bunch of the isolated tracks ripped from Rock Band or Guitar Hero, if you haven't heard any yet. Amazing to listen to the isolated tracks after all these years, especially the vocal tracks!

I remember playing on a tennis racket and BLASTING the first record through my dad's hifi setup. I remember studying the back jacket like it was the bible, and thought those 5 guys were the coolest people I'd ever seen. Never cared for the stuff afterwards, but my goodness, that first album is unbelievable and an honest to goodness straight listen. The outro solo on Hitch A Ride still gives me chills.

Don't count out the second and third albums...I just wish they had the tones of the first...Cool The Engines and Don't Look Back are great tunes and would have way more impact if they were heavier sounding like Boston I.

Even RTZ (Return to Zero) is pretty good. Two fifths of Boston I think...Brad Delp and Barry Goodrow...still sounds like Boston , released in the 80s...Face The Music is a great song.

The first album just slayed, every song was on the radio back in the day. :)

I like their old stuff. Saw them in the late 80's. Believe the guitarist had a broken leg at the time   Haven't really listened to anything from them after that. Great band.

I must have worn out at least versions of the 1rst album, it was killer

Great band and killer tone, never feels stale listening to their classic stuff

Loved the first two records.....hate Toms process of recording and the insane amounts of time it takes to spit out something :)

Always loved early Boston. Reminds me of driving around with dad as a young kid. He was like "now check out this band..they're a bit dated now but they do all those crazy sounds with their guitars!"

I grew up on the first two Boston LPs. My dad used to rock this all the time!! He even had it on 8-track.

One of my favorite bands Dan!!! Of course I grew up with Boston, great production for the time as well!

Can't argue with the results though...and I honestly think Third Stage took so long because of other things in his life besides just making music (SR&D for one and a NASTY divorce for another). It must have been a monumental task to get that company off the ground and develop ALL the products and find time to write and record and who knows...maybe there were terms in his divorce that he would have to pay the ex a certain percentage for a certain amount of time so he just sat back and crossed his arms and waited...until that time period was over.

 One of my all-time favs. Saw them last year for the 1st time. Even though i think Tom is the only original member, they still put on a great show.

Tom had a brace on his leg when I saw them last year. Maybe its a permanent condition?

1st album is a classic. I like a few songs here and there from later albums too. But the new stuff is cringe worthy. Check out the 1987 Casio drum machine tones on this :

Guitar guys dig Scholz, but Boston isn't Boston without Brad Delp. Totally underrated singer.

Boston is the only band that I've heard every song off their debut album (or any album) on the radio over the years. I was late to the bus, but started really getting into Boston around '96 when I started playing guitar. Tom Scholz was a very early influence on me, now more so for his electronics wizardry. Delp had a legendary voice, and I thought Barry Goudreau was a little similar in vocal style, especially in his solo album.
