I have tried to find out through their websites info on price and how to order and cant find out anything usefull for many of the different brands mentioned. I might just get one off ebay if I can. Can someone give a price rundown and impedance options etc for the top attenuators mentioned throughout this thread??

Go to Rivera's site. He has a very good video explaining the design of the Rock Crusher. For $500, this is probably the best on the market and built to last.

I spoke to the guys at Aracom and Alex. I'm ordering an Aracom DAG.

I use these for attenuation.......

What's the lead time and cost on the Aracom DAG?

I use a THD, works for everything I need it to do.
Me too......but really an attenuator is only good if its really expensive.

Since things he states are incorrect I just wouldn't trust this one. It may be the shit, but until someone I respect gives it a go I just don't trust it.

5-6 weeks for the Aracom. Jeff over there wrote me a good descriptive email that sold me.

But I believe the DAG are available sooner. You order them from some retailer. So, with a price difference of about 125$ which one of the Aracoms is better?

What is he saying thats wrong? This one sounds pretty good too. Seems similar to the Faustine. IMHO.

Itd be nice to get some input from the pros like Trace from Voodoo, Dave Friedman etc. You guys out there??????

It's been a while, but he states that they did extensive research of other attenuators and that Rivera is the first to offer variable ohms. Which is BS. Hot Plate, Phantom. I'm sure others. There were a few other things. Claiming how bad others were made and how much better theirs was. The Faustine is built like a tank. So is the Hot Plate.

It may be great, but when he is giving false info and spends so much time putting others down it just is a red flag to me.

Well there you go. I have to agree with you Shark Diver.

Im trying to figure out which Aracom to get and just get it. Too bad local stores in Sac dont have any attenuators period.

DAG - Destroy All Guitars is the retailer for the DAG model and you can order from them. $785

The Pro model is direct from Aracom and is $660. 5-6 weeks delivery on it. Not sure if DAG has any in stock.

Faustine cannot supply the market. They should just go out of business. Plus, they are too expensive for normal use. I don't even like attenautors, so I don't know why I am wasting my time here. But, I was sort of wanting one to check out the Bogner modded Marshall with it pegged out.

Slave it!

I do like the ability for various ohm use as i used to have a thd hotplate that worked ok but U had to buy seperate unit for each ohm setting. Someone had mentioned that many complain about attenuators but it depends what u need it for, ie are u using a clean sound with high headroom but just dont want the super high volume then the aracom is supposedly great for that, if u are trying to get the cranked marshall tone but just a bit quieter then a few of the others do just that nicely. The new revised Ultimate atten has the dual volume knobs that are footswitchable which is a selling point with me, up to 200 watt capability, a built in variac 100v plug jack, and handles 4-8-16 ohms which will save money over time, I plan on using it in a dirty marshall setup.

I appreciate your input , i know u have personally owned at one time most of the gear u talk about and dont sugarcoat it.

power plug

http://www.revengeamps.com/

hate me for being cheap, but, i got an 8 ohm one, and love it.

used my buddies thd on my heartbreaker, and didn't like it..made the amp feel mushy.

had a power brake for my jcm 900 and it literally made the tone unbearable.

those power plugs are pretty transparent....so far, i've run my amp full out with it to see, and it doesn't even blink. gets a tad hot though, but works great.
