I always use an SM-57 running into a Neve 1073 mic pre

I always gain up the signal using the 1073, rather than using boosts in front of the amp.

Scumback BM-75 speaker. Close mic'ed. Sometimes I'll blend in an AKG-220
 
Word. And you have used cell phones too right. My only 'good' mic is my SM57. Yes, you have a lot of gain :lol: No boost is cool. I've recently learned that my Dual Rec sound better without a boost and I have some good ones here: Pepers DT, SD1, Koko, MXR Disti78, Bad Monkey* *best actually. :dunno: I would love to play through a Scumback period.
 
Some ideas are ideas for other people to pursue. I can only focus on one thing at a time lol. If any of my ideas flourish then all good...
 
@311splawndude enjoy your trip to the hillbilly hideaway. Lemme know if your folks need anything supply-wise. I could grab it on the way. I gotta go to spring hill on weds late afternoon and will probably take US19 up there so I could probably drop it by for them. Just lemme know. You got my number so after about noon today just text me cause I ain't taking a 'puter.

Thanks man. Safe travels. Not at cabin this weekend, it was a stay at home and get some work done. Redid our prepper storage, yard work, had a bon fire and way too much to drink with the misses, slept outside, etc.

Posting them on YouTube is the new forum of songwriting protection.

But honestly, I'm just riffing and having fun with playing the guitar.

Every track up there on that channel are nothing more than "riff tapes".. ideas I record as soon as I come up with them.

So if someone copied one of your riffs and made a million dollars on it, Youtube would protect you and the courts would get you compensated?
