Fairly convinced Australia (Like Canada and New Zealand) have a higher standard of living than we do.

My money is on you being the only one who cares.

I could only imagine
Some of the other Capital Cities here are a bit more affordable. So you can keep your dream alive. A lot of people would want to avoid Sydney anyway for the same reason a lot of people would want to avoid any rat race city.

My rig, for stocked trout...
I use a 7 ft ultralight rod
Pfluger 20 with 4 lb test
I adjust my hooks 2-4 and even salmon egg hooks. I use small cheese balls or salmon eggs or worm tips
Ah, you cheat. Might as well just go to Dierbergs and buy some fish.

I also skip opening day because I have been in several fistfights. I love fly fishing, I fucking hate fly fisherman.

Yeah, I'm out
plenty of desert in the interior; if you like that sort of thing. Since the pandemic, New South Wales is the most popular destination for totalitarians, authoritarians and tyrants.

Like I said, I'd keep going east. On my to do list is to spend an extended period of time in south east Asia; had to renew my passport and they gave me a new passport number which no longer matches my 10-year visa to China, so I need to get a new one.

On my constantly changing list of places are Hainan, China; several places in Japan including Kyoto, but I'd like to go to the countryside in the southern islands, Shikoku, Kyūshū, and the southern archipelagos except Okinawa; Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam which I haven't been to; I've been to Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, some several times.

won't know until I retire, and see: traveling Asia for an extended period vs sailboat
