I'm really tired of my Schecter C7+

How much should I expect to pay to get into good 7 stringer category? Or do I have to custom order one?

Well, I'm an LP man.

FR would be great, but not necessary.

we could do that too, with the Siren body style......

I own a RG1527 and Schecter Blackjack7 and both bring different things to the plate for me. One is a rhythm guitar and the other my pretend shred guitar :D

I have played several LTD SC607s and they are pretty cool guitars, want to try the new 8 stringer.

Can you do an actual LP body shape with a neck similar to the one in the pic with an OFR?

I'm afraid to ask how much that would cost

My experience with Ibanez guitars is that they sound very thin. Schecters are sort of better, but still thin.

Is this the case with LTD SC607s too?

C shaped, pretty darn close to the schecter stuff. Not Ibanez thin for sure.

If you can find a Dean EVO 7 you should check it out. They have been discontinued, so ebay is a good place to start. Our other guitarist has 2, and they are great guitars. LP style, mahogany body and neck, maple top with figured veneer. They will NOT pass the cork sniffer test though.

Musicman JP7 is the best production 7 i've tried. Caparison was pretty decent too. Custom is always a good option but I hate waiting!

I paid $400 for my RG7620.....it's "good". There's a couple nice Carvins in their "in stock" section of their website and some K7s (mahogany...but the inlay sucks) and RG7621/7421s on ebay right now as well.

What about a ESP Viper 7 ?
Maybe a Jackson COW 7 ?

The COW is crap........had one......the OP has a regular C-7 or a Hellraiser? The 1527 is a good one.....

My Peavey has an awesome neck, and it was uber cheap new, like $200.00!

Anderson made some 7 strings, but they're real hard to find and super expensive. If I wanted a 7 string I'd get a Caparison, unless I was looking for something on a budget.
