Where will we be in 250 years?

I was WAY hotter (average 4F higher) during the Roman warm period and everyone lived on the coastlines back then (which weren't different). It was warmer during the medieval warm period as well (average 2F higher).

That's great for the Romans, but it was not a global phenomenon.

Yes but they are telling us climate change is going to be catastrophic in our lifetimes so it still doesn't add up. Not that I believe anything they say but the hypocrisy is pretty telling.

I don't think you get it. Someone who will die in less than 20 years and has hundreds of millions of dollars can buy a house on a beach for their own enjoyment without caring if it remains value or is functional in 50 years. It's the same ratio of cost to wealth as the average American spending $100 on a birthday dinner or $500 on a smartphone. And I don't even mean an iPhone.
Yup, and quantum computing will make it obtainable in real time.
I don't think you understand how quantum computing works. In order to get any speed up, you need to find a quantum algorithm that can take advantage of superpositions. Unless you know of one that works to do brain mapping, this is just as credible as scifi at this point.

What nonsense. There are tons of studies in other places that show much higher temps than in the Mediterranean. How can you even make your brain jump through hoops to convince yourself a +4F average would be localized? Romans had vineyards in the UK during this period.

Here is a study done in Lapland in Finland showing much higher temps there during this period. Nature Climate Change (2012) doi:10.1038/nclimate1589

You'll have to internet archive it, it's been deleted by Nature. It's interesting that the wiki page on the Roman Warm Period was deleted in 2009 and now only has a couple paragraphs, with most saying there was nothing significant...lol. How about we try to grow grapes in Scotland?

Vikings described grapes and currants growing in abundance in Newfoundland during the Medieval warm period.

global warming...yeah ok....global cooling....get your popcorn....shit gets real....real quick. For example-the mongols. They were brought about by global cooling. All kinds of unforeseen consequences can arise.

I knew there had to be a conspiracy in there somewhere lol

We won't recognize the world by 2040, so thinking of two hundred or more years out is like thinking about A.I. during the revolution war era, but 100,000,000x that difference or more. I personally just want to see the cyberpunk world come alive. Still no funk'n hoverboards, Mattel? I mean you have the money for Barbie movies. WTF?

George Jetson is already a year and a half old, we have a lot of work to do

Oh dude I fully understand it. There's already papers about speeding up training of neural networks with quantum computing
https://arxiv.org/abs/2301.08292

You can bet your ass we will develop convolutional algorithms for it. Oh here you go:

LOL. AI has been one of my main dev focus for nearly the last decade.

Bro, you can literally look up who edits Wiki articles and then look through their history. The guy that deleted the Roman Warm Period page seems to be really into editing shit on global warming, the catholic church, gay shit, and other libshit topics.

There sure are a lot of software engineers on this site
90% of them have a decade or more experience in AI.
0% of them have NDAs.

I don’t really care about Wikipedia man. It’s not academia and has absolutely nothing to do with the global climate and the fact that it is continually getting warmer. That one time Vikings picked grapes doesn’t change that either

If the Earth is flat, how can it be global warming?
Duh
