I have been on a gear flipping run the last few weeks and I think I've done pretty well.

Here goes...

$650 initial investment on Mesa Mk3 red stripe.

Sold mk3 for $700

Took that $700 and bought a modded marshall 2203+ 1960AV cab from local pawn shop. Cash talks at pawn shops.

Sold the Marshall halfstack for $1300.

Bought a Randall Vmax and another 1960B for $350 for the pair, sold them for $500.

Now I was at $1450. I then added another $550 of my own cash and bought a Fortin Bones for $2000.

Traded the Fortin Bones (tack on $100 for shipping here) for a mint Diezel VH4. Can't beat a Vh4 for $1300.
What a run.

If I really wanted to get it down on price, I also picked up a Jackson USA custom shop for $300, which I could probably sell for $900 pretty easy. Bringing me down to $700 on the VH4, but I think I'm keeping the Jackson.

Used to flip gear for fun. Never lost out on any deals.
Always was a fun ride for sure.

I'm probably $20,000 in the hole over the years.

Between buying lots of stuff new, cabs, recording stuff, and Line 6 stuff, lol. Big hole

in the hole, I usually just sell stuff for what I get it for and try to pass on a deal to other forum members. sometimes I sell for less than what I paid. I don't even remember the last time I made money on a deal. I am content to break even.

Im up $15k on flips the past year and half, fun but trying to be done with it and play more lol

I think I'm down ~30,000 last year or so. Mostly because of the Teuffels -_-

Wow! I'm trying to catch up!

I used to do that with old cars. Only problem was you legally can't sell more than 5 per year without a dealer license.

Profit?
I think I lose on almost every deal I've made.

I think I once sold a pedal where I came out on top by about $2.50...i remember running to my wife and telling her about it

Always losing, all the time otherwise.

I am +- $1000 over the past few years. To me, losing a little $$$ on an amp or guitar is ok as long as you had fun with it while you owned it. If you rented gear, it would cost a lot more than that.
